Edgar took pride in enjoying Herbology, perhaps because he enjoyed it so much or perhaps because it was one of the only subjects his sister and brother didnât take that he did. No shadow, no preset standard, just him. âYouâre welcome. Who do you think does the harvesting?âÂ
Edgar watched as a few students came and left the common room, giving a few nods to a couple of classmates and friends. âWell, I have been thinkingâŚâ Did he want to tell Amelia what he had been thinking? Yes, sure, he wanted to get anotherâs opinion on the matter, but did he want his sisters? His sister had always been like a second mother to him, which sure, he was completely grateful for, so many others didnât even have a caring mother, never mind two. sheâd probably be a little over enthusiastic about it, drop of 1001 textbooks and biographies, write a detailed strategy on how he could get into the career and then how to climb to the top. Edgar was only in his fourth year and he wasnât ready for that kind of commitment just yet. What if he changed his mind? What if something more important came up and he did that instead? âIâve just been thinking about a few things thats all. Maybe magical remedies, care for creatures, you know. Maybe Iâll teach like mom does.â He lied. He had actually been considering curse breaking and he knew if he even suggested it, Amelia would latch onto it. || @milabonesâÂ
âOh donât get me wrong â Iâm glad some of you seem to enjoy spending hours watering and talking to plants,â she laughed. âItâs just not for me, which is probably all the better for those poor plants.â She sat straight and listened up as it seemed he was about to let her in on his aspirations for the future. She could see the conflict written on his face, and indecision â which she had to remind herself, was normal at his age. Even if sheâd always had a plan for her own future which included detailed steps on how to achieve it, said plan had changed about six times since her own fourth year. The choices he listed all seemed fitting and like they would make him happy; he was always a more caring individual when compared to her hard, no-nonsense, sometimes cold approach to most things. âThese all sound nice. Let me know if I can do anything to help, or introduce you to anyone,â she couldnât help but say. While she understood how he might want to get there himself, she just wanted the best for him, and Edgar was deserving of a helping hand more than anyone she knew. âDonât tell mom until youâre sure, though,â she said with a secret smile â âyou know how sheâll get if thereâs even a whiff of one of us wanting to follow in her footsteps,â she laughed. Amelia took after their mom in that way â brash and intense and with a tendency to put her nose in everyoneâs business. @edgar-bonesâ
