"But people shouldn't be forced to be pregnant against their will!"
Rape is already illegal.
"But I want to be able to have sex without getting pregnant!"
Well I want to eat 500 cookies without getting sick, but the human body doesn't work that way. Sex is not a right; you will live.
In the best legal news in 50 years, today the US Supreme Court ruled that there is no constitutional right to abortion. As this ruling does not prohibit states from creating or defending one, this is far from an unmitigated victory for pro-lifers (though it may be for conservatives). Yes, we have been praying, working, and fasting for Roe v. Wade to be overturned in the US and this is a great step. But our goal has been the elimination of abortion and the creation of a culture that actively supports the vulnerable in society such that no one wants to seek to kill her children. We are far from either a pro-life nation or a culture of life. Thanks to this ruling, we can begin to make societal and legal changes at lower levels, but the work will not be done until abortion is completely outlawed and all mothers have the resources they need.
Friendly reminder that the term âsafe abortionâ is an oxymoron. Abortion always ends in at least 1 death.
I saw a TikTok today about baby boxes (which are of course a sad reality) and so many of the comments were about how this ~horrible thing~ exists in America bc we make it so hard to get abortions, and it filled me with fury. How is giving a baby to social services in a world where tons of people want to adopt infants worse than killing that baby?? The mental gymnastics!!
My nephew was the first safe surrendered baby in our state. He is adopted into our family. We love him so very much and his life is so valuable.
I will honest to goodness fight anyone over this. Absolutely not.

Hello MacGyver Fandom!
It is that time again - we are asking you to submit your prompt ideas for this yearâs Cairo Day Celebration!
This year we are going to go about it a little differently: there will be the option to submit written prompts and visual prompts.
But how does that work?
Donât be scared, we have a handy little manual for you.
Written Prompts
These work just like they did last year. You can submit up to 10 prompts!
This can be tropes like the following: Hurt/Comfort, Mission Fic, Found FamilyâŚ
You can also submit AU ideas like: Coffee Shop AU, College/Highschool AU, Science Fiction AUâŚ
There is really a space where you can go wild. You want a Mr and Ms Smith AU? Write it down!
Visual Prompts
Now this is new! Here you can submit up to 10 pictures as visual prompts. But how does it work?
You pick your visual prompts. These can be any kind of picture, perhaps a picture of a city at night, or a picture of some pyramids.
Then you upload them in the form - up to a certain size that should be no problem at all.
If youâre now thinking: âI have ideas, but where do I find pictures?â Again, we got you!
Unsplash and Pexels are two excellent websites filled with tons of photos completely free to use! You can type in whatever you want and just see if you find a picture that inspires you! Or you just scroll through their front page, to see some randomized pictures!
Where can I submit my prompts?
You can submit your prompts, both written and visual, on this Google Form:
Cairo Day Celebration Prompts
If you have any questions, feel free to shoot us an ask - we can answer all of your questions there.
Until then, weâll see each other in Cairo. ;)

Reblogging this now because I found it by accident the other day when I was looking for the âfind my Macâ post and I am mesmerized. I love WK and I love this art and I canât unsee this nowâŚ
No, they absolutely did. The speech George Washington gave as he left office was about the exact situation we are in now.Â
Thatâs why they didnât allow political parties at first, because they knew that it would devolve into two bloated clusters of assholes, neither of which has any interest in fixing anything, spending all their time trying to convince you that the âotherâ side is somehow even worse.
Trump v. Biden isnât some weird aberration or improbable fluke, it is the direct and inevitable result of Hamiltonâs bullshit, and Jefferson/Madisonâs response.

Youâre a âđžformer gifted kidâđžand you were reading at a college level in grade 4, but you also think Harry Potter is peak literature and that Fanfiction should be taught in school. Yeah alright
It's not that Fanfiction should be taught in school. Turns out that Fanfiction is creative writing which is a wide field and can help students to express themselves. There are lots of theories about it.
Creative Writing should be taught in school.
It already is. Itâs a class iterally called creative writing
Yes, but in Creative Writing class they are always very strict about not using existing characters/stories. Except MAYBE if they are public domain, but even that gets a little iffy. "What do you think happens after the end of this story?" (Or "What would this story be like if X charged?" Or "What would happen if these same characters were in this totally different setting?" Etc.) can be just as valid a prompt as "write a story based on this picture", but Creative Writing classes don't do that.
To be fair, it's probably to avoid copywrite issues, but there are ways around that (hello "I do not own these characters" statements). Hell, they could make "filing off the serial numbers" part of the unit.
Now why would a creative writing class encourage you to write and create your own stuff. Thatâs just ridiculous.
Copyright laws are looser for educational purposes than they are for anything else, really. Thereâs absolutely no copyright issue here.
Actually, the creative writing classes I was in already do this and people just hated it anyway because they were being asked to write an essay from the point of view of some character in Charles Dickens or something but it absolutely does happen you just donât label it as fanfiction when it does happen.
the comments on this video killed me
thinking about how an anonymous group (WHO DOESNâT SEEM TO BE AFFILIATED W/ SESAME STREET!!!) found out where jon armond lived and made him swear he wouldnât show anyone cracks before they gave it to him
oh i am SO glad you asked. gimme a sec
Ok SO. This guy (Jon Armond) claimed to have seen a Sesame Street short as a kid where the cracks in a girlâs wall come to life. One of these cracks is referred to as the âCrack Monsterâ, which was apparently so unsettling that it âscarred him for lifeâ.
After all was said and done, Jon would end up spending about THIRTY FUCKING YEARS looking for the short. THIRTY. He considered it his lifeâs work.
Listen. I can appreciate that level of dedication to recovering a lost piece of animation history, but uh. damn.
Anyway, he posted about it online, where many other people reported seeing it as well. The fact that there were multiple accounts of its existence, but little to no information on it anywhere, was what made it start garnering attention on the internet. Now a bunch of people are looking for it.
No one knew for sure what the title was yet, so most referred to it as the âCrack Monster Cartoonâ, or something similar. The lack of a known title (or music, or voice actors, or writers, or literally anything) made it extremely difficult to research, but there were too many reports to write it off as a hoax.
So people kept looking.
Iâm gonna leave out some details in the middle here, since I donât wanna make this thread too long. But itâs super interesting, Iâd recommend checking it out for yourself. Letâs just skip to the weird part.
After years of searching, Armond received a fax to his workplace with an untraceable number. It read:Â
âWE HAVE THE COPYâ
Additionally, they said they would send him said copy of the short, on one condition: he was to never show it publicly, or post it online in any way.Â
Whoever it was that contacted him, they did NOT want it to be viewed by the general public.
here it is, btw.
So six months pass. Armond gets a letter, which saysÂ
âWE TRUST THIS COMPLETES YOUR SEARCHâ
Also enclosed in the envelope is a DVD.
To clarify, he received it on a SUNDAY. These people, whoever they are, found out where he WORKED, and then went to the effort of delivering it PERSONALLY on a day where there was NO MAIL, just to send the message THAT THEY KNEW WHERE HE LIVED AS WELL.
FOR THAT SESAME STREET CARTOON.
So now he has it. And he tells people he has it, but that no one else can see it. Which is, of course, INCREDIBLY unsatisfying to the people online who have also been searching for it, right?
Enter Dycaite, the founder of the Lost Media Wiki.
So Dycaite started looking into it as well. Like I said, Iâm skipping a bunch of details in this thread, but long story short he eventually received an anonymous email.
The email contained CRACKS.
There were no instructions telling him not to share it. Dycaite didnât hesitate, which is how we got the version of CRACKS that I linked.
With the newfound context provided by the video, it actually makes complete sense that it was only aired a few times. This short was made right before the word âCrackâ became widely known as a euphemism for drugs, which is how you get characters like âThe Crack Monkeyâ.Â
Sesame Street doesnât want to be associated with that, so they stop airing it right? Eventually itâs forgotten about, the only record of its existence being Sesame Streetâs digital archives.
(Itâs believed that the person who emailed Dycaite had access to these archives, due to the timestamp and title at the start of their version of the clip.)
So⌠thatâs it right? It SEEMS like it should just be a classic story of formerly lost media, cartoon stops airing, gets lost, people online find it again. We even know WHY it was lost, not because it was âtoo scaryâ or whatever, just because it didnât age well.
But thereâs still SO MUCH mystery surrounding CRACKS.
The version of CRACKS that Jon Armond received was different from the version Dycaite received. Armond says his version appears to be an actual recording, as it starts with a brief appearance of Bert and Ernie, before transitioning to the short. As mentioned earlier, Dycaiteâs version seems to come from some kind of archive.
So it can be reasonably assumed that the people who contacted Armond are not affiliated with the person who emailed Dycaite. The person who contacted Dycaite also didnât seem to care if the short was released to the public. Armond still hasnât released his version of the recording to the public, though has apparently shown it to a few people privately.
So why all the secrecy? And why was Jon Armond given a copy? Did they simply feel bad for him, or was there something they didnât want him to discover in his search? Was the version Armond received (and therefore the version that was aired) somehow different from the version Dycaite got????
i donât fucking know babey!!! and neither does anyone else apparently!!!!
oh AND the group who didnât want CRACKS to ever be viewed doesnât actually seem to be affiliated with Sesame Street, since they presumably donât have access to the archives. (otherwise, why not remove the info from the beginning and send that version?)
so thereâs an unofficial Sesame Street Forbidden Knowledge Guild out there i fuckin guess!!!!!!!!
anyways thatâs cracks for you
(this isnât comprehensive btw, and i may have gotten some stuff wrong. if you wanna know more hereâs a good video on it)
this is the version of this post w/ the right links btw
Lost media is just a fucking trip in general, but the Crack Master Cabal is certainly up there in weirdness, along with stuff like that one old movie inexplicably found in a janitors cupboard in an asylum.
Posting here as this is very good information.
I regularly see posts about sick/injured foxes that are full of comments telling the op to pick up the fox and take it to the vet. Just yesterday I saw a post where someone was asking if an inured fox theyâd found would bite them if they picked it up. Never touch a sick or injured wild animal. It doesnât matter how docile or out of it they may appear, they can switch in a second and seriously injure you. Always call someone like a wildlife rescue, RSPCA or animal control who have the experience and equipment to handle that animal safely.Â

You know what Betty? Thank you for being a friend
i think itâs fucked up that there are plants that decided they wanted to eat meat
a plantâs job is literally to just exist but the venus flytrap chose violence
what if i gently laid an uncooked steak on the soil for it to absorb
my tree biology teacher fed her calcium-deficient tree a whole-ass bbq rib bone - she stuck it in the ground near the base of the tree (after eating the meat off of it), and when she came back to collect it to show the tree biology class it was GONE
the tree had grown a root up through the center of it & out through the sides
also thereâs an old story about a man who was buried beneath a tree, and when they went to exhume the body it had been completely absorbed by the treeâs roots- you could see the shape of the body in the way the roots grew, splitting up for clearly defined arms and legs. trees will absolutely eat a steak if you bury it & they need the nutrients.
thatâs horrifying! thank you
