ZENDAYA 2026 | "The Odyssey" World Premiere, London (July 6)
Your fixation with my blog sure is something, but you do understand that the audience is largely American? You do understand that we are talking about a Mexican-American? You do understand there's a reason Ryan feels passionate about portraying his culture a certain way? Because of the audience that's watching him?
Also, you do understand there's a reason why Buck is the perceived main character next to Athena? Instead of, idk, Chim or Hen? Never mind Eddie who is played by a man "too pretty to die"? 911 was created by three white men and is still run by one of those white men. You cannot avoid the topic of race when discussing how story lines are or could have been handled, e.g. Ryan having to advocate for different scenes because Tim literally just keeps him on the show for his looks and the baiting opportunities. ;)
Can we talk about this insistence that Shannon Diaz "had no help" (and was therefore justified in behaving the way she did) for a minute? She had Eddie's family. His mother. His father (when not working). His sisters. The fact that she presented herself as the Martyr Mom making all the sacrifices while Eddie was *fighting a war* implies she didn't want their help. Sure, she didn't get along with Helena, but you can't complain about doing everything by yourself when you're deliberately not using the resources readily available to you. ;) And if "help" is what she needed most, why wasn't she more optimistic about sticking around the second time? Why was sending that letter even an option? Eddie was there. Chris was getting the accommodations he needed. The money wasn't as much of an issue as in years past. And still she couldn't guarantee she was committed to staying in Chris's life no matter what? Uh huh. Right.
Btw. Remember in 2x04 when Eddie's aunt tried to say Shannon "stuck" him with the responsibility of caring for Chris on his own? Remember when Eddie instantly shut her down about it? Because I do. ;) And remember how this was BEFORE Carla and BEFORE Eddie trusted Buck with Chris alone and BEFORE his girlfriends became live-in babysitters? Because I do. ;) Ableist moms exist and they shouldn't be ignored in fictional media just to avoid accusations of #misogyny. And one final note that I have to keep mentioning for some reason /s: All of you talking about emphasizing Shannon's privilege as a white woman being a "bad thing" because "white women are not exempt from misogyny" (thank you, Captain Obvious) are conveniently *not* acknowledging how it would look if the white mom were sincerely portrayed as the better parent over the Mexican father. 😉

this disability pride i wanna keep in mind the disabled people who are in a difficult situation because of their disability. people who were made homeless because of their disability, people who are stuck in abusive homes and can't get out because of their disability. people whose disability was used against them to facilitate abuse, like taking away their autonomy - medical, legal, or otherwise - taking charge of their finances, taking advantage of their vulnerabilities. it's reasonable to think that a lot of disabled people, especially disabled people in difficult circumstances such of these, would struggle to connect with the idea of disability pride. but pride or otherwise, this month should also be disability solidarity month. this month and every month is for all disabled people in all sorts of circumstances

It's absolutely baffling how many people have consumed at least *some* of Heated Rivalry and still go around like "You think celebrities LIE to the public? What FOR? What is the REASON?" I'm sure a lot of y'all are keeping secrets from your own family (and maybe even some friends) so idk why the idea of a "famous" person keeping shit to themselves for image purposes is so foreign, lol.
