i’m so excited ngl, i love this month so much (tbf i like any month that represents me lmao).

ugh, this month represents so much for the lgbtqia+ community; the history, the culture, the struggles, and the successes.

guys, we’ve been through so much as a community and here we still are, still here, still queer. if it weren’t for our community, we wouldn’t have gone as far as we have since Marsha P. Johnson and Stormé DeLarverie at stonewall, since butches having to change their birth certificate to marry their femme, since unregulated hormone therapy, and so so much more.

we’re family. we have a struggle, one way or another, that unites us all into what we call the lgbtqia+ community. so let’s use this month to remember what our ancestors fought for, what they fought against, and how they had to live in the context of their environments in order to live as their true selves.

a stem is a stud + femme.

Not a baby stud, not a tomboy, a stem.

of course, not all stems are the same. some prefer to present themselves as a mixture of masculinity and femininity, but most present masc some days and fem others.

if you decide to date a stem, make sure you’re okay with dating all sides of them, not just their masc side or fem side, ALL of them.

same goes for futches as well.

seeing people talk about transmen/transwomen (one word) as opposed to trans men and trans women (two words) really rubs me the wrong way.

as a linguistics nerd i understand that it’s a common evolution for two words to become one when paired frequently enough, but doing it for trans people feels like it’s separating trans people from being men and/or women.

trans [man/woman] draws attention to the fact that they’re still a man/woman despite being assigned a different gender at birth, whereas the conjunction makes them out to be a whole separate gender that should have transgender bathrooms next to men’s and women’s bathrooms.

now they’re up there with oil and tobacco companies in terms of manipulating people into using things that’s clearly bad for them and the world.
