Each wooden bead on this mala is made from Palo Santo, a tree found in Central and South America that is a relative of Frankincense and Myrrh. The aromatic wood is harvested from naturally fallen trees; this sustainable practice protects living trees and prevents deforestation. Each purchase helps plant a new tree for future generations to enjoy!

The guru bead (tasseled bead) is made from Tagua, a nut that comes from the genus of trees, Phytelephas, and is commonly referred to as "vegetable ivory." It is a beautiful, sustainable material that compliments the Palo Santo perfectly.
