I have tested all the perfumes they have at Douglas that claim to have a myrrh note because I want something like Myrrh & Tonka but with more myrrh. And less sweet. Sadly all the others don't actually smell like myrrh at all. I still have some frankincense ones to try when I next visit them.
Sometimes I put M&T on despite the heat. Apparently a lot of people get "overwhelmed" by what are commonly termed "winter scents" in summer, so I don't use it when I'm about to go where people are. But maybe for a walk alone. I don't mind those scents in summer. It's not like they literally make me warmer..? If it's gorgeous in winter, it's gorgeous in summer. But alright, I don't want to terrorize people, so I'll keep it to myself.
But I get a burnt scent from M&T at the moment next to the tonka, so maybe that's where the myrrh goes in this heat lol. It reminds me of the smell of burnt tires. Maybe in autumn the myrrh scent will be back.
I also want to buy some small samples of more niche, artisanal perfumes in autumn, to broaden my horizons beyond this mass market stuff, and there will definitely be at least two myrrh scents among them. Because dayum, what a great scent it is!
