Also, everything she's done here is pretty reversible? Like, if she's in a situation where she needs to get as much money as she can when selling, she can repaint the place beige and pack up everything colorful before it's listed.
The recommendation for sellers is to put on a new coat of paint right before selling. Any previous paint jobs aren't gonna be relevant.
"What about future buyers?" Well I plan to die in this fucking house so first of all jot that down
When my sister sold her house in London it looked like this, and she was INUNDATED with buyers who all said they wanted it because it wasn't a beige box and therefore felt like a beautiful and completed home rather than something they would have to put money and effort into to be comfortable. Her tastes weren't to everyone's tastes, of course, but like... Her house had character. She ended up getting about £100,000 over the asking price because it started a bidding war
Here's the hastily-sensored photo of my niece in the kitchen before they left
That kitchen put a good £25K onto the value of that house. Plenty of people do, in fact, want colour

“Measuring my living room to see if this would work in my house…”
Me, foaming at the mouth: Ẅ̷̩̮̖͉̺̟͖̞̫̙́̈́̄͗̔͝Ä̵̜͔̠̫̣͍͙̾̓͂͐͐N̵̦̓͌͆͊̑̿̿̀̓͒T̵̝͔̬̱͚͔̻̈́̀͐̍̓̏͐͘͝
This is amazing and I want it really badly in my house.
It's rare that I see a picture of a kitchen that I really unreservedly like, which is part of why I still struggle to determine what I want in a kitchen. This one is ticking a lot of boxes though. I like the timber bench tops mirrored in the timber dining table, and I'm loving the simplicity of the navy cabinetry underneath. I also appreciate that it has white tiles without the dreaded Black Grout Of Excessive Visual Busy-ness.
Hippo Table by Derek Pearce
I love these tables where there's something breaking the table's surface from the implied depths below. The fact that this one is a hippo with that magnificent booty is just a bonus.

Really enjoy built-in bookshelves, and particularly those ones sunk into the wall like that. Love the look of this whole apartment, it could be a bit more colourful but with the indoor plants and soft furnishings, it feels lived in rather than sterile as largely white apartments so often do.

I will never be over exposed beams, particularly on pitched ceilings where you can see whole trusses. I think it's the way it gives you a sense of the structure, and defines the space in a way that just a void doesn't do.

That huge window is gorgeous, and I particularly love that it appears to be at ground level (although that could just be the plants). Either way it gives the effect of being in a cosy sunken cavern. Also love the use of indoor plants to link the two spaces so it feels like one bigger room.

I adore the huge tree in the atrium, it's absolutely gorgeous, and the giant slab table has a suitable sense of scale to match it. It could definitely use some colour in there and the sunken kitchen is just an exercise in inaccessibility for anyone not perfectly physically able, but I love the concept.
