A sad sight: Four unused double-slot shelf brackets from various local stores that are no longer with us.
The left-facing one is from Lincoln Hardware (1929 - 2000), the most storied hardware store in Tacoma. By the part number on the pricetag, I can tell this was made by National but it appears to have been deprecated from their product lineup.
The topmost right-facing one is from Yardbirds (1947-1922), the legendary surplus store in Chehalis (plus two other locations over their history). Uncertain who produced that bracket. This photo was taken at Visiting Nurses Thrift in Chehalis, so it makes sense this was here.
The third bracket came from one of those two stores also, and the fourth didn't have an original pricetag. Do people still use this rail system for shelving, which had some popularity in the '60s and '70s? Yes, but infrequently, and where I work does stock the parts though it's the rails that sell more often than the brackets for some reason.
