Why is banter, witty/clever one- sentenced replies easier, more comfortable, more natural than having real, heart-to-heart conversations with someone - about your feelings, wants and, deepest desires?
You hook them first temporarily with your charisma, funny analogies, quirky responses - but bore them by showing that this personality is not persistent - that deep inside you're as original as every other one out there.
Rarely anyone sticks once the clever persona fades out and you start becoming like a regular person with your mundane routine.
How are these invisible wounds still deep enough to make you restless with doubt when someone uses gentle words on you?
Why do you push the right kind of people away by always doubting, always questioning, always in the pits of your web of thoughts, never believing what they say - because you can never imagine them liking you for who you are - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually?
Why does goodness scare you? Why is kindness to yourself so foreign to you?
Relating and liking tumblr posts were my thing in the early-mid 2010s era. More than a decade has passed and inherently - I think I'm the same girl as I was back then. Just with a few more experiences, a little bit of frivolous heartbreaks, mostly the same fears and daydreaming habits.
I have left so many hobbies as I grew up and life caught up with me. College, jobs, adulthood, and most importantly - addiction to 20 second reels (some of them which were motivating/inspirational/educational - not all were brainrotting).
Nevertheless, these activities made me stop or give up the creative hobbies that I liked doing before. Sketching, writing, singing, dancing.
It's nice to get back to Tumblr and see a familiar space (with a lot more random advertisements, and an additional feature for only reel/video viewing), even though it's a little embarrassing to be 26 (turning 27 in a few months) and be here to try to live in the nostalgia amongst teens and young adults way cooler than me. Cool but kind, from what I've gathered.
Anyway, I'll keep writing more and more to try to get back to my old habit again - to see how I like expressing things. Maybe this is how I'll find out more about myself and how I look at the world.
