You are in need of guidance even if you were the most pious and even if you were the most knowledgeable; you are in need of guidance till you die.

“Give each other gifts,

for gifts remove agitation within the chest.”

“Indeed, among the people are those who love to be praised,

yet they are not worth the wing of a mosquito in the sight of Allah.”

❝The most complete of the believers in their Emaan are those

who have the best manners,

who are humble,

who join hearts and their hearts are joined.

There is no good in the one

who does not join the hearts

nor is his heart joined.❞

These ten days are not like Ramadan. There is no chaining of the devils, nor that special atmosphere that helps the soul through the gathering of people, the filling of the mosques, and the ease of performing acts of worship.

Rather, the ten days of Dhûl-Hîjjâh are the arena of the truthful and the appointed time for the eager. It is in these days that the servant’s sincerity with Allāh becomes manifest — because he enters them while the Shaytān is with him, and the worldly life surrounds him with its occupations and worries.

So, congratulations to the one who knows their true value, and prepares for them before they arrive.

“What is manhood?”

Al-Ahnaf said,

“Forbearance at a time of anger,

and forgiveness at a time of power.”

“I heard Bishr say,

‘Hunger

- purifies the heart

- kills desires

- and grants precise knowledge.’”

“When Allah the Exalted intends evil or destruction for a servant,

He removes modesty from him,

and you will not meet him

except that he is detestable and despised.”
