Hundreds of thousands of dirty dishes reproducing in my sink every moment of every day
This post is going to get 10k i can feel it investing at 83.
Video games are just another mode of storytelling and I don’t understand how people don’t get that
once when i was a teenager my gramma was going through some pictures. holding up two she said "you look just like your dad when he was in highschool!"
they looked like this. and it was the first time i ever considered shaving my head
so i just shaved my head the other day and gave my gramma a call. i asked her if she remembered this story, then told her how that was the first time i considered shaving my head then showed her a picture of how it looks now.
she laughed and said "your dad shaved his head in his 20s too!" a reminded me of a picture i have of my dad at my age.
there's nothing funny i can say about this im just cursed. on the bright side, im gonna grow a killer beard in my 30s.
update. my dad's hair had slowly grown curlier and wavier with age. noticed today that my hair is also starting to curl ever so slightly. women who are just like their dad support group.
your body needing iron is funny its not even like special iron its the stuff in the mines
It kind of is special iron actually. even though a fair number of us can convert regular iron into special iron at a limited rate.
Haem iron is the kind found in animal tissues, and it's easier for the body to absorb since it can be used directly unlike the kind that comes from plants and pots and pans and the ground. This is one of the biggest medical reasons why many people cannot be vegans.

Best Christian movie of the year; K Pop Demon Hunters
It's about how your own guilt will only lead you deeper and deeper into sin to cover it.
It's about how that guilt and fear can and is passed down from past generations, and of course you're going to look to them for guidance and wisdom but the only way to get through that is to reject it.
It's about how how you cannot ignore where you're from but you don't need to celebrate the parts of you that bring you pain, you can leave them be.
Look in my eyes.
It's about the THEMES.
Ohhh my gosh YES I have so many thoughts about this! I see a lot of people saying "this is about rejecting religion and how bad it is when people judging you for your sins but they fumbled the ending" but NO- they didn't fumble the ending because that wasn't the theme!
-If it were about rejecting religion and living in your sins, then Rumi would have joined the demons/they would have found that the demons are just misunderstood. But that's not what happened!
-Instead of the happy ending being Rumi becoming a demon, the happy ending is she chooses to be a Hunter (just like we choose to follow Christ). She rebuilds the Honmoon and defeats Gwi-Ma and the other demons instead of giving up all hope and embracing her demon side. Gwi-Ma tells them they are only their sins and cannot change or improve, and those demons that listen and agree are defeated in the end by Rumi, Mira, and Zoey (and Jinu)!
-Gwi-Ma's voice tells people they are only their sin, so they might as well join him and not try to improve because they aren't good enough to be with everyone else (like what he tells Mira and Zoey and Bobby after the Idol Awards, causing them to almost surrender to Gwi-Ma). This is JUST like that April 2025 General Conference Talk by Scott D. Whiting "Beware the Second Temptation"
-Note The Saja Boys' song "Your Idol" telling the listeners "I'm the only one who'll love your sins"- the demons don't love you, they love your sin. They want you to think that you are your sin, but you are not! You can change! They want you to be miserable like them, and encourage your sin (not you) (but man is that song a BANGER or what)
-But everyone CAN change, even demons- that's the whole point of Jinu's story! No one has gone too far that they cannot repent and turn back towards goodness (aka Christ) (Isaiah 1:18).
-The song "Free" says "we can't fix it if we never face it"- it's not saying accept the dark side, it's saying don't ignore it! As Christians we know we are meant to repent, and repenting means acknowledging we aren't perfect! So instead of hiding and pretending everything is fine, we can face our shortcomings and with Christ's help, can fix them!
-Oh MAN one of the best parts is at the end when Rumi confronts Gwi-Ma after "Your Idol". He taunts her with the fact that everyone can see that she's not perfect, she acknowledges it and tells him that it won't prevent her from creating a new Honmoon, and does so, defeating Gwi-Ma and the rest of the demons in the process. And that's a perfect lesson for us! Rumi lived her whole life thinking that because she was half demon, she didn't deserve to live life until she was perfect. But she learns that she doesn't have to be perfect to fight evil- she just has to do it. And that's for us too- if we wait to be perfect before we go to church or help others or start repenting, we will never get there. But accepting that there is good work to do and doing that good work is what will complete us (like when Rumi still fought Gwi-Ma despite being more demonic than ever) is what helps her get rid of her demon characteristics. And even though she still has scars, they are beautiful and remind her of the price she paid to do good and be good!
Sorry that was so long, I just get really excited about this!
That’s IT I’m re-upping my Netflix to watch this
I would LOVE to hear your thoughts

Just helped a 14-year-old get a new library card, after which she said "Do you want to see something cool I drew?" Of course I said yes. So she pulled a small canvas out of her bag on which she had drawn many many very good sharks in various poses. And then she proceeded to tell me about all the kinds of sharks she had drawn (I like sharks but am not good at identifying them beyond the really obvious ones like hammerheads) and shared all her feelings about how cool cookie cutter sharks are. (They are extremely cool.)
Absolutely top-tier library encounter. She is my favorite patron of today.

truly wild how driving really does become like piloting a mech after a while. like it sounds so car-bro-y but the car genuinely does become like an extension of your body. your muscles are simply making the correct micro-movements to perfectly manouvre a giant piece of machinery through a constantly moving maze while your brain is busy singing karaoke. you can physically feel when a gap is too small for your car-sona to fit through, like a cat putting its whiskers into a crevice. your brain is suddenly able to do on-the-fly s=d/t calculations in a milisecond and tell you exactly how quickly you need to move to avoid an oncoming vehicle while turning across the road. why does driving unlock the unused 89% of my brain
What the hell.
Is that what driving is for most people? I looked in the notes expecting to see a bunch of bewildered reactions but everyone is agreeing with OP and it's not that I don't believe you, but like.
I drove for years and hated every second of it because I was constantly aware of the fact that I was in charge of a massive chunk of speeding steel and glass capable of causing death if I sneezed at the wrong moment. Not for a single second did the car feel like a part of me. Driving always felt deeply unnatural and highly dangerous. It is indeed Wild to think that the vast majority of people apparently smoothly mind-meld with their car.
No wonder I hate driving so much. Everyone else is having a fun Carsona drift experience while I'm strapped into the pilot seat of a complicated memory game whose penalty for losing is dismemberment.
This is 100% a documented neurological phenomenon associated with tool usage, empathy, and the extension of the sense of self to encompass other things. (But it still took me a long time to develop...)
Some of the most touching testimonies in my eyes are those who have turned from sexual sin to follow Christ. I know how deep and destructive sexual sin is. While porn was never an addiction for me, someone I love dearly nearly destroyed himself with it. He got away and was saved by Christ. For myself, I nearly lost my husband to chase a woman who groomed me into believing I was gay. And I hear stories constantly of ex-strippers, ex-OF creators, ex-porn addicts, ex-lgbt and so on.. it’s so magnificent to see those chains broken and those people free in Christ. ❤️
To anyone struggling, there is hope. There is freedom! There is Christ and He will heal your heart and break your chains. His Love can and will save you!
Not gonna actually answer this ask, obviously, but like, no??? He wouldn't??? And like, I'm okay with people disagreeing with me, but at least do it civilly, y'know?
Being pro-murder and then thinking you know the mind of God is a special kind of crazy.

The way people fetishize men in shows and movies disturbs me. Two men can’t have a conversation without people drawing them having sex or imagining it. Not even brothers and familial bonds are safe. (Or teenagers for that matter)
This is the abject reality of a porn-infused society. People are incapable of seeing anyone- living or fantasy- as anything more than a canvas to fulfill sexual desire and fetish fantasies. It’s truly disturbing. People tend to claim only men deal with this and objectify women, but I see so many men objectified and apparently it’s just accepted as normal behavior.
So exhausting.
