Taking into account that this is probably in the same timeline as SFAWTDE, (he says he solves mysteries) i see this insistance as a coping mechanism after all of the real things he's seen. Meaby he's using denial and a "if I don't acknowledge it it cannot hurt me" as a way to push himself to continue looking into mysteries that he now know could be dangerous. Or meaby he's in denial after the KIY situation.

It's interesting how, the instant things get real at the end, he does not even have an instant of "this is impossible", he immediately accept what is happening to him and start being afraid this entity might be able to tell he's recording outside the game.

(And meaby inspire more flight fics !)

- when experimenting will ingredients to discover new rituals, Scott accidentally stumble onto a corrupted one before Pyro can warn him. I'm unsure wich ritual (meaby the hug one ?) Or if scott or Pyro (arriving just in time to push Scott out of the circle) should suffer the consequences.

- Pyro returns and once he makes contact with Scott, the ice magic reach in and freeze the corruption that was slowly growing by consuming his magic. That could be why only Scott magic seemed to grow out of control when they separated, Pyro extra power was being consumed. They must now stay in close proximity, or even regular physical contact, to keep the corruption frozen.

-Even after they finally mad eyo and Scott forgave him, he refuses to get close again, believing fully that he would only get hurt in the end by getting attached to someone who would eventually leave. Pyro has to proove to Scott he is here to stay this time.

Scott's Finale hit me like a brick.... then Owen's like a bus right after.

Most are inspired by the childe/sire bond and fledgling instincts things on Ao3 and the avid slowly turning theory that went around a little while ago.

Most are also Avid centric because I love that sad wet cat of a war criminal.

-With avid slowly turning into a Vampire from the start, he start sending out "distressed/panicked fledgling" signals without knowing. Meaby he's not turned enough to hear himself yet? And with his transformation not complete, Scott and Owen cannot find where the calls are coming from and are getting more and more worked up. This could also be what woke them up in the first place.

-A bond between a sire and a childe can be severed by death, wich is like cutting a cord, or on purpose. The latter is like ripping out the bond for the recipient, but nearly painless for the one doing it. It can leave the fledgling messed up, meaby even make it painful for them to try to make new bonds again. This could also cause the fledgling to fall silent and just... stop meaby ?

Anyway, Scott does this to Avid unknowingly, meaby in a "Owen is a fledgling situation" while he's stuck in protective instincts and sees Avid as a threat? This could also work in a Owen and Avid bonding fic, as he realise what happened and pick up the pieces.

Will somebody tell them ? Are there even any Vampires they are still friendly enough with to have a conversation ?
