Wildwalk Alphabet
The Wildwalk alphabet is unique in that it is centered around how a word is pronounced, rather than how itād be spelled in another language or if it had a pictogram to represent it. Words they heard would be spelled phonetically, allowing the reader to be able to pronounce it correctly when read back aloud even if it was something from a language they didnāt natively speak. This was especially useful for a crossroads town, whether it be learning how to speak new names/languages or recording something that someone with a purely oral language had said. (Needless to say, it was pretty popular among the villageās musicians and bards)
Numbers were admittedly added into the alphabet later, and thus follow a moreĀ āvisualā logic than a phonetic/audio based one. They function similar to English numbers, with the 0 written differently whether it was used an actual zero or as a placeholder (10, 100, etc).
A couple examples of names spelled in the phonetic Wildwalk alphabet:
Daniel (D A* N Y L)
Toadie (T O D EE)
Chyth (Ch IH TH)
N (E N)
It wasnāt uncommon to incorporate the written language into Wildwalk art, and customized pieces were popular commissions among villagers.

Apparently Nickelodeon wants to build an attraction in Palawan, PhilippinesĀ .Ā
This might seem fun for some people, but for us itās not.Ā
You see, Palawan is known for its non-commercialized islands and untouched beaches. There are only a few resorts in there, and the government limits tourism population there. Here are some pictures of our beautiful islands:
Nickelodeon, however, wants to capitalize the island of Coron, Palawan. Theyāre going to build a resort and theme park there. They claim that they want toĀ āspread environmental awarenessā but theyāre really not. Building this resort will disrupt the marine ecosystem; thus destroying the environment there. Also, Palawan is our last ecological frontier in the Philippines. If theyāre going to continue to do this, more and more big companies will cash-in to commercialize Palawan- and I really do not want that to happen.
I know petitions wonāt do much, but at least we can prove a point that Palawan should not be disrupted. Please sign this petition, so that it will not only show that us Filipinxs donāt want this, but people from different countries as well. Please spread it around as well, so that people from different countries can be aware of what Nickelodeon is doing.
Ang aming kalikasan ay hindi dapat sirain. Maraming salamat po.
Gotta spread this myself. Iām Filipina and the conservation of home is incredibly important to me. Pollution is already a huge issue throughout the countryās cities. Many islands including Palawan are home to not just beautiful nature but some of the last of our untouched, uncolonized heritage.
wtf
NO. PLEASE NO. I LEGIT CRIED WHEN I READ THE NEWS ARTICLE. The article is in a legit news network. Itās not fake. MY CHEST HURTS AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY. The developers say it wonāt hurt the environment but artificial structures are artificial structures. PLEASE. PLEASE. NO.
I CAN ONLY HOPE THE PETITION IS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I SIGNED IT SO FAST.
EVEN IF YOUāRE NOT FILIPINO, PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST. PLEASE.

Man. Calling the swords in Wildstar sharp is kinda like calling ice warm. By SOME standards, perhaps, but those are some prrrrretty low standards.
theyāre basically boards that have the power of a sun fueling them that donāt even cut they just melt everything they touch
All the more reason they need mace and axe skins.
I would really enjoy skins, even if the skill animations donāt change. Having absurdly large Spellslinger guns that resemble double barrelled sawn-off shotguns sounds like the kind of ludicrous, unrealistic, highly impractical aesthetic I would love to sport.
battlepaddles
Thereās no real particular reason for swords to be sharp, if weāre going to bringĀ ārealismā into a fantasy sci-fi video game. Even historically on Earth, sharpness has never been the only consideration for a sword to have. Thereās way too much information for me to compress into a short post, but basically, a sword is designed with a purpose in mind. Are you attacking an armored target? An unarmored target? That dictates the shape and design of the sword. There arenāt any real āguidelinesā for sword development over time, but itās closely tied to the availability and design of armor. The classic offense vs defense debate that still rages even today. After chainmail started becoming widely available, swords started to become less sharp, and more focused on a tapered point for thrust attacks, as chainmail is very effective against slashing type attacks. For a thrusting weapon, sharpness is basically a nonfactor, since you deliver all your damage through the tip of the weapon. It does not rely on a sharpened edge.Ā
(Sidenote: if a sword is extremely sharp, the blade will take severe damage when attacking someone wearing armor in the first place. Durability is a very important factor when it comes to a weapon that a lot of people donāt really take into account. A blade needs to be sharp enough toĀ ādigā into armor, but not so sharp that its edge is simply chipped away or repeatedĀ ābluntedā during battle rapidly.) After plate armor becomes common, sword designs start to turn exclusively into thrusting weapons. In the late medieval ages, the sword, generally speaking as Iām not covering every nation on earth, starts to develop into a sort of triangular shape capable of delivering both cut and thrust attacks in equal measure, so an armed soldier can fight both lightly armored infantry and armored soldiers. Then you have a few time periods where dueling weapons, such as smallswords and rapiers, are made, specifically for fighting one on one duels, and so on, but thatās another topic in and out of itself. In a game like Wildstar where youāre having people in heavy power armor running around like lunatics armed with swords powered by a nuclear reactor spinning around at 100000 rpm while screaming and turning into a giant through sheer fury alone, Iād say that sharpness of the blade is a non-factor.
Nikson said what I was thinking, and much more. I donāt know swords but I know some about knives, and sharpness is a complicated thing and not always important even in a knife, much less a sword which is essentially a board with a slightly narrower bit on the edge.
And, you know, fusion reactor. Also reblogging for the tags: #my japanese katana can cut through a thousand exiles in one swing#folded over one thousand times

Trilby sketches, pre and post contagion. Thiiiiiighs. :3
I like to imagine that Protostar also delivers pizza to housing plots in their little spaceships and you can order all sorts of weird toppings.
Ravenous Feast - (all meat, cubacon, dawngrazer, girrok, some kind of weird pepperoni and tentacles)
Arborian Harvest - (flamefrond, glowmelon, goldeaf, heartichoke and julienned veggies in a rich marinara sauce)
Granok Gutbuster - (gravel mixed in with the dough, healthy mix of meat and lichens, heavy bourbon bbq sauce)
Ikthian Invasion - (seaweed baked into the base, all the seafood they could muster dredged out of the lake in Whitevale)
Big Buggy Crunch - (golden roasted bugflesh, augmented spider legs (the nanites are for flavor!), boiled barkbiters and⦠yes⦠the roaches are supposed to be there, all on a bed of greens and white sauce)
Cheese - (⦠what? Itās cheese.)
Whitevale White - white pizza, snoglug glaze, frozen. (suggested by bricktits)
Mechari Oilslick - Thickened motor oil sauce with exanite crunchies baked into the crust. (suggested by bricktits)
Cassian Caprese - Finely milled flour flatbread, aged cheese made with the tears of Exiles, wine sauce. (suggested by bricktits)
Chua Surprise - Garbage? Wait⦠is the pizza for chuas or made of chuas? (suggested by bricktits)
And uh⦠I canāt think of any others. Can you?
You place an order on the datachron and if theyāre not there in half an hour you get 3% off of your next pizza purchase.
And the logo on the box is a Protostar with a huge moustache and chefās hat.
I am suddenly revive-reblogging this for no reason whatsoever beyond āI love pizza.ā

5 Reasons why RPers should Give Wildstar a Shot
If youāve been following me for the last couple months, youāve probably seen me make several posts gushing over this game. I get to play a space-cowboy, I love space cowboys - it was a pretty easy draw for me. But personal bias aside, Iāve been left wondering just how a game like this didnāt take-off at the hands of us creative rp-types. Thinking upon it further, I realized that before I started actually playing I had virtually zero idea of just how much this game would/could cater to my rp desires. So Iām thinking⦠that maybe people just donāt realize how robust of an rp platform Wildstar is. In lieu of this, I'ma point out five things about Wildstar that really f*cking rock if you enjoy in-game RP. Ready? Here we go.
Letās start with the big gun first: Housing. You know all those āterritory disputesā you hear about in WoW, where X group wanted to host an event at such-and-such location only to find other people already using the space? That doesnāt happen in Wildstar, because every character gets their own phased housing plot at level 14. You can set your plot to public so that anyone can come visit, or you can keep it so that only you and folks you select as neighbors can go. You can even keep it completely private if you like. As for what you can build there? Anything. Iām not kidding. Iāve seen haunted houses, a mini-golf course, dive bars, strip clubs, sports clubs, jungles, a super-advanced spaceship, even a full-on recreation of the Lionās Pride Inn from Goldshire. Objects you buy for the plot are both resizable and infinitely rotatable. Hell, even just plot hopping around to see what other people have made is an adventure in its own. Itās incredible seeing how off the wall creative people get with it. Like really thereās an art gallery out there where someone shrank down the objects to make little diorama paintings and itās just⦠mind-blowing. I would have thrown my hat into this game for the housing system alone, but as it turns out thatās not the only outstanding thing about this game.
Three words: Cross. Faction. RP. This is a brand new feature of the game that gives us exactly what people have been asking for in WoW for years. You can talk to people on the opposing faction. You can group up and play with them even. And your housing plot? You can make it cross-faction friendly too, just donāt be too surprised if a bar fight breaks out. ;3
Iād be hard-pressed not to talk about the rp community itself - which is relatively small in comparison to WoW but far more active in terms of inciting involvement. The Wildstar RP forum keeps a calendar of events (which are quite frequent), but even without relying on that you can pop into the WSRP chat channel, ask if thereās any rp going on, and odds are someone is going to be like āYeah! _____ās bar is open for the night!ā or āWeāre all rolling at ______ās bathhouse!ā Those who are there are active and friendly towards new players. Iāve been incredibly impressed with the amount of rp Iāve gotten to witness and be a part of so far. On Tuesday, I got to go to a class lecture about splorgs. Then the splogs escaped and people had to find them. It was great. These people are great.
Hereās one Iāve waxed poetic about already but folks. Folks. The Holo Wardrobe. Imagine NOT having to run to a transmog location every time you get new gear. Imagine being able to change your outfit anytime, anywhere. Imagine getting to use any armor category for a costume piece no matter what your class is. Imagine clothes that look like CLOTHES and not just beefy or overly-intricate armor. And if ALL THAT isnāt enough for you (because I was won over by that alone tbh), you can collect dyes that you can use to customize your outfits. Often times the clothing items have multiple areas that can be color changed. Itās hella addicting just sitting in the window and playing dressup with your character. You know, if you like that sorta thing. I really like that sorta thing.
Itās FREE. Super free. And while there is an in-game store you can opt to spend actual money in, the game also GIVES you currency you can use in the store just for playing. Not just piddly amounts of the currency either - Iāve been able to buy myself 4 extra costume slots and three decor packs just from what I earned as a free player. And while yes, I did eventually sub - it was more because I wanted to support the game and less because it gave me any real advantage. Thereās no real push to pay for a sub - you can have all the rp fun-times without it.
Really, there are many, many more things that make Wildstar a fun time. As someone coming from being sorta burnt out by WoWās level grind, I was surprised at how refreshing my PVE experience felt on my way up to level cap. Not to mention you get hoverboards - which, donāt even get me started on just how fun it feels to zip around performing constant melon-grabs and gliding across water like itās no big deal. There are hoverboard racetrack plots, by the way. Just saying. Juuusssst. Saying.
What Iām trying to get at is that Wildstar is fun, especially if you like rping in a game environment. I have been incredibly taken by it over the past couple months, and I think itās exactly the sort of game rpers would have a great time with. Do consider giving it a shot if you can, and if you have any questions whatsoever feel free to shoot me a message. <3Ā
But seriously, this is the MMO that has introduced me to some of my best online friends and has creatively and artistically spurred me on for over a year now. Great game. Great community. Great RP.
Reblogging this here as well because itās IMPORTANT TO ME, DARN IT.

Sheās crazy.. crazy fashionable!
I doodled this back during my summer vacation with my family (hence why itās so unseasonal) and there is a small story behind it. My mother, sister and I were out shopping for clothes one day, when I, while idly browsing, found this very dress hanging.Ā
OH MY GOD, IF THIS IS NOT ZURI I DONāT KNOW WHAT IS, I thought.
Though Ć®t was slightly outside of what I would guiltlessly afford, and I cannot pull it off nearly as well as Zuri does, I just couldnāt resist. I had to have it.
