As it turns out, Nigel Farage might have wasted most of his summer by spending it fighting with a man wearing a bin on his bonce.
endlessly amused that Farage seems to think he's a Magic: The Gathering card
blunder of the century: Farage plays Ephemerate into non-targeted removal
Something I would love for more people to look into when there are stories where "the charges were dropped by prosecution" is how often the articles frame that like the cops fucked up and the prosecution stepped in to correct the situation when, if you go looking, it almost always comes out that the prosecution was "forced" to drop the charges because they "could not proceed with the given evidence."
It is so very crucial to understand the prosecutor's office as an extension of the police force and recognize that both operate from a similar position. There ARE some radical prosecutors seeking to "change things from the inside" and create a buffer between the police and the public, but you will find immediately how much the police understand (correctly) that the role of the prosecutor is to close the deal on the work of the cops. Prosecutors who seek to combat the system do not last long because they will be found by the police union, by their superiors, by the district attorney's office, to not be doing their job.
The ones who say their hands are tied and they have no choice but to go after certain people in the ways that they do are lying when 1. 98% of all crim cases in the USA are closed by plea deals and do not see court time 2. the prosecutors actually do have a lot of leeway when it comes to pursuing imprisonment or not. So either they are utterly full of shit or they DO understand that the collective force of the mass incarceration system will bite off their head for failing to feed another body to the machine and they are choosing self preservation over doing the right thing.
In ACAB talks, people need to have way more gas for prosecutors.

Actually I'm not done talking about Elliot Page. You know that tweet that's going around that goes like "I always thought he was a terrible actor and hoped he would get better after transitioning but he is still bad" and people are touting it like it's peak ally behavior and I really don't get how they can't see how it's blatently an excuse to shit on him but woke? He's not a bad actor. He's never been. Even if you thought so before, how would you judge the difference? He's been in two badly reviewed seasons of the umbrella academy and five minutes of the odyssey, because transitioning just so happens to be bad for your career? Moot point bc he is not and people are just foaming at the mouth to be cruel to him without being accused of transphobia and it's clear as day.
My middle school gave you detention if you didn’t turn in your homework on time did I ever tell y’all about that
at mine if u were late for more than 6 days in a semester (not in a row, just 6 total) you got detention. crazy
I'll probably stand alone with this but if facing consequences for not doing the most basic things to be a reliable person, like being on time and doing your work, is considered crazy nowadays, let's just say that explains a lot.
More people should be talking about this.
Because for the gun touting MAGAs that love yelling about “muh freedumbs!”? This is NOT freedom. That is fascism.
i do not want to live in the fucking panopticon fuck the camera that blinks above me at work, the tv watching me at the store, the "smile you're on camera" signs, the ring cameras, the flock cameras, the apps to track your child or partner, the activist friends telling me "just assume everything you do in public is being recorded somewhere", the government building protester databases, the teslas recording every move all around them, the knowledge that everything i type or search or save is being tracked and logged, the ads and search suggestions that mysteriously know what i was just talking about, the way biometrics keep creeping into more places, the way my car spies on me, the way my phone spies on me, the way there is nowhere to go to get away from it!!! no wonder the internet is full of vindictive little stalkers and witchhunts when it's the water and the air of society from the culture to the infrastructure

Fuck yeah! Eat shit!
I keep saying there are literally millions of good reasons to wear a respie in public, and people keep ignoring me.
3.5 million pages later… there’s still only one trans person in the Epstein files: trans teen survivor Ava Cordero. The documents show that she settled out of court for $28k. I previously verified this with someone who knows her. All Ava's accusations were true.
Notably, Epstein's lawyer claimed he wasn't gay and thus Ava must have been lying. I often think about how Epstein could have been stopped sooner if society listened to POC, trans people, or girls.
