I always like this because it references their last interaction on the tarmac, when she was like, "Tony, you are so..." I just love it!!!!!

i wonder if ziva wrote in journals when she was running. if like in her office, she carried around with her dozens of black notebooks and wrote about missing Tony and Tali.
i also wonder if she keeps them in Paris now too. if she waits for them to go to bed before picking a pen and writing about all her feelings.
i wonder if she would one day get the idea of publishing what she writes.
but i don't need to wonder to know she's a damn good writer.
anyways i really miss them

Somehow, I just found out that Ziva was 24 in Season 3? Well, I am 24 and it feels like the strangest thing in the world.

Okay, so here we are Chapter 8. There are still 2 chapters to go: one in Cairo and then the last one. The Cairo chapter is written and mostly edited. I could maybe post it this weekend or the beginning of next week. Also thank you so so much for all the kudos, I genuinely can't believe so many people are reading my story. And special thanks to @indestinatus for reading and commenting and supporting this ❤️❤️

Chapter 6 is finally up! I've hesistant on posting this because I wasn't sure of the chapter that came after it. I kept this in my draft in case I changed the course of things afterwards. Which I did. Multiple times. But I figured I should just post this now.

I have to update the Tiva fic, edit a few chapters, finish writing one, and post. I also have a crazy book idea building at the back of my mind. It feels foggy now, but I don't know how to sit down with it. I also just finished reading 10 books in the Shadowhunters series, and all I can think about is Emma and Julian. Plus, I have 2 drafts for Substack that I need to finish. The issue is not time, but I feel like my brain is so scattered I just can't think straight.
Reading the same books from when you were a kid and then re-reading them as an adult gives you so much perspective on your growth. Almost 12 years ago, when I read the Shadowhunters Chronicles, I remember how I was so attached to the characters. I couldn't understand why the story went the way it did, and my opinions were limited to "omg, why did he die?" and "I cannot bear this." But now, as an adult, I feel those emotions 100 times stronger, but in a wiser way. Maybe it's because I understand grief better, but I just can see now where an author is going with something, and how that might reflect an actual truth in a world.
Books aren't just escapes; they are a reflection of a person's soul and its deepest truths.
I just read Lady Midnight for the first time.
I thought nothing could beat Jace and Clary’s relationship. But oh God, why did no one tell me I would cry my eyes out with Julian and Emma? And I am only in book 1. Book 1! And these characters... I feel like I need to write a whole review but idk where to post it.
It's crazy to me how Cassandra Clare writes the siblings trope for her FMCs. Crazy brother who doesn't care about you and uses you to get fame and money? Check. Crazy brother who doesn't get the difference between loving your sister and being in love and thinks you belong to him? Check.

I ended up reading the Infernal Devices, all of the Mortal Instruments books, and Tales of the Shadowhunters Academy. And I have too many thoughts. Please save me from my own thoughts.
One thing I'm learning about myself as a writer is that I'm better with a structure. Maybe it's because I have been in school all my life, and I'm used to being told what to do. Or maybe because my engineering brain likes to follow clear directions. But writing this TIVA fanfic with a knowledge of the big lines of what happened, and an idea of where I'm going and the big scenes, is extremely helpful.
I always thought writing fanfic wasn't for me, but this is a good practice for me.
