Hi Judy! Thanks for asking this and I understand your concern. And it does makes sense! Personally, I always go for official art or art provided by the person commissioning me. If there is an artist involved I'd deny it unless they gave permission. As for overlays, there's many websites that provide free overlays or assets that you can play around with, which is what I usually do. If you're editing and posting for practice you shouldn't worry that much, just always remember to credit creators if anything. However, if you were profiting off someone else's content that could bring you trouble. I believe as long as you use official content or free content while also coming up with your own you should be okay! I have the same concern as you sometimes.
