Dark days and grim nights the wolf lurks

A predator preying on its prey for sustenance

You hear the songs of the pack

A weird melody but ever so soothing

Howling in the pale moon light

The pale moon light

Moon light

This ashen sphere used as light during these dark nights.

Most take it for granted.

It is everlasting

Through time and space and history

Always there

Always watching

Always listening

Doesn't ask for anything in return

But providing so much

These kindred spirits

The wolf and the moon

Every night the wolf sings it's song

Gives the moon it's praise

Tells the moon it's secrets

Finding solace in the pale moonlight

Praising the slate colored God

This cycle

The moon rises

The wolf howls

The moon listens

The moon sets washing away the wolfs sins

...

But, what if

The moon never comes back

Will the howls go unheard

That hypnotizing song

Sung to the moon nightly

What will the wolf turn to

Will the songs be less meaningful

Who will the wolf confide in on those late nights

Will the wolfs howls stop

Where will the secrets go

Buried deep down

To weigh on the soul

...

It was supposed to be for forever

But taken for granted

See

Time is a construct

Seconds, minutes, hours,

It's all perspective.

See to the wolf

The moon was forever

Always there

Always will be

But

To the moon

This wolf was just temporary

A passerby in it's never ending story

Will come and be gone like all the ones before him
