Hey um so since Eridians basically stop moving or breathing or showing signs of life when they sleep maybe it’s hard to tell when they die. So Rocky sat there for days, forcing himself to stay awake because he could not fathom that they were all dead. He stayed up because he was the last and someone had to watch them. Eventually his body gave out and he slept for the first time knowing no one was watching. I wonder if he thinks it’s his fault they passed because he was the last one awake and should have kept watching them…I wonder how long it took before he finally admitted they were gone and threw the bodies into space…

Thinking about how Ryland makes a model of Rocky’s spaceship out of ramen as a peace offering even though food is limited because he feels bad about not having any gift for his new friend. Don’t know if they intended it, but it’s a subtle sign to me the extent Ryland would go for Rocky.

the concept of percy and annabeth watching a marine life documentary together and annabeth is sobbing because the narrator is discussing climate change effects while sad music plays and percy is giggling because the octopus and shark have been calling each other sea slurs in almost all the footage

fyi to those of you who still haven't read the phm book, you're missing out on some pretty hardcore Yearning after grace & rocky part ways. there's whole chapters of grace like, staring sadly after rocky's departing ship in the petrovascope every single day while thinking mournfully about how great his best friend is and how much he wishes rocky was there, before doing an insane amount of complicated relativistic math to calculate the exact moment when he'll no longer be able to see the blip-a's light in the distance bc he already misses rocky so much. it's great stuff
