an elaboration on aroace leo valdez
okay this may be becuase im asexual BUTTTTT aroace leo is real in my mind.
I think it would've been more beneficial to both him and calypso if they didn't end up together. leos character arc was handled sooo poorly imo.
despite all the complexities his character had leo seemed to view himself as this like cool, funny guy. "badboy supreme" if you will. humor to cope, yk?
i don't think he NEEDED to be with someone.
ending up with calypso just fulfilled what he wanted, and not what he needed. the image of that cool, funny, guy who has no issues.
i feel like so much potential went to waste with that. idk.
he was always hitting on every girl he saw because he has an innate need for attention. a need for validation. which can easily be mistaken for romantic attraction, when in reality he needed to work through that alone.
and for what its worth calypso was kind of the same. begging every guy to stay on her island, knowing she was destined to be alone.
i hate calleo im sorry i dont think they should've ended up together.
leo could have been so much more real if all his trauma wasn't just thrown away at the end for a relationship.
