My main/art blog is @lemonlumens, this is my Project Sekai sideblog. As you may be able to tell, I like Mizurui a lot and post about them a lot. I find them fascinating, and their relationship is fascinatingly weird as hell. More generally, I'm a Niigo fan before I'm a person and I'm in the process of contracting a case of WxS poisoning. Polyniigo and Polysho are simply true to me.
Iām also insane about Waiting for Godot, the play about waiting that Rui mentions a couple times, and I frequently post about it in relation to Rui and Mizuki. The quote in my blog description is from it, as is any dialogue attributed to Vladimir and Estragon, itās what Iām referring to with any mention of Godot or waiting or ānothing to be doneā.

YEAH, YEAH, Iāve straight up talked about yuri of absence/mizurui of absence before, highly influential to me personally, everything can be seen through any lens, even things that arenāt related are related by how unrelated they are, absence is still reference, thereās always an angle. Everything is yuri. Of course, Mizurui too is yuri. Either way, as Rui is in many cases a girl even if she doesnāt know that at the moment, or Mizuki and Ruiās relationship is necessarily defined in relation to the relationships Mizuki has with other girls, Niigo and An, and how thereās something they have that her relationship to Rui lacks, leaving it unfulfilled and perceivedly less valuable.
Any specific concepts or terms you associate with mizurui? I know youāve mentioned the alice-bob recursive mental modelling interface before, so I was wondering if youāve similarly thought about them in other senses/through lenses from other fields of study. Yeah, everything down to the way the sunlight glints off the water in ponds with fountains is mizurui to me, that oneās partially a joke but I do think of them every time I go outside. But for real, quantum mechanics is a big one; certain optical illusions, impossible objects like penrose stairs; social alienation; objects in mirror are closer than they appear; qualia; reality, fiction, narrative, and the relationships between; game theory; learned helplessness; liminality in the sense of in-betweenness, limbo, purgatory, blurred lines, grey, situationships, hallways where thereās not really enough space to put like furniture or decorations but thereās enough space to be recognizable as a hallway rather than a clear boundary between rooms; most philosophical, sociological, epistemological, semantic, optical, and metaphysical concepts become mizurui if I think about them too hard; relativity, broadly; outside in; waiting; perception and observation; the concept of ātomorrowā; licking each otherās wounds; the basis on which we become people, the bases on which we are denied personhood; shoegaze; the back of my eyelids.

do we ever see the first time mizuki and rui reunited in high school?
Nope. Thereās an argument to be made for Mizukiās 1ā side story 2 being that, cause of the weirdness of the interaction and all (āyouāre the same as everā - āas are youā is a bit of an odd exchange if theyāve seen each other even remotely recently, but they do a similar thing in Kamifes and that definitively isnāt their first reunion, so I think theyāre just like that), but personally I donāt believe it cause I figure Mizuki had to have made Ruiās costume before Nene and Neneroboās, but she wasnāt sewing in middle school so she canāt have made it back then, and it would be weird to not mention Ruiās in that conversation. Ultimately we donāt know any certain details at all around the making of Ruiās costume, nor their high school reunion.
Thinking on it, by march Rui wouldāve already taken his high school entrance exams and gotten into his school of choice, as I understand by the end of third year in ms and hs classes arenāt really mandatory. Do you think he kept going to school just to see Mizuki on the roofā¦
Thinking about Mizuki and Rui getting caught in the occasional time loop in middle school againā¦ the first time a day loops, Mizuki doesnāt even notice because every day is so monotonous, and Rui only notices immediately because he was sure he went to bed in his actual bed last night, only to wake up slumped over his workshop table like how he fell asleep the night before. They meet on the roof a couple more ātodaysā, nothing changes, and as suddenly as they found themselves stuck, time flows again already. The state of things becomes thus: every now and again, a day repeats itself a few times. Nearing the end of the year, they get stuck in a particularly long loop. Weeks pass, various means of breaking time loops from various sources are discussed, bearing no fruit. Theyāve spent upwards of 3 months total repeating days across all their loops by now. Saying fuck it, for the first time, they skip school. They go to an arcade, get food, hang out at a park, just walk around the city, talk, and part ways. When they wake up tomorrow itās a new day. In a couple weeks itās graduation. Time doesnāt loop again. Nothing changes. They still donāt keep in touch.

Hi! Hello!! Long time follower here. Love your mizurui stuff so much you always put so much thought into them and it's really awesome to see all those connections and little details throughout the story. It has helped me to process my own old loneliness too and and I'm thankful for that.
That being said it would be so wonderhoy if you didn't talk about other characters you don't care to analyze or think any part deeply about just to dismiss them. Not saying you gotta like or care about them obviously it just would be cool to not see a post about my favorite little guy from one of my favorite chara analysis blogs that just is "he's stupid and I don't like him". He is my comfort the same way mizuki or rui is to you.
Thanks but how is this my problem, you see my opinions cause youāre following my tumblr blog where I post my opinions. Iām a person with thoughts about a gacha game that I share on a microblogging website, I donāt exist or post with the intent of being your favourite character analysis blog. Itās not a matter of etiquette, I donāt tag my shit 99% of the time, certainly not when Iām being negative, as you admit, you only see it cause youāre following me. When I see people say things I would consider āshit takesā about the characters I like, I hit buttons like āunfollowā or āblockā instead of telling people to stop posting on their own blogs.

Nene Phoenix ss1 so cute, Rui and Nene meeting up early to have Nene record lines for the robo-Phoenix, Rui āaccidentallyā turning it on and making Nene chase after it so she hears her lines in context and can come to her own conclusion of whatās lacking and find the determination to do even better. Also I like that the robot is very explicitly a girl
