Hi! First, I love your blog!
Second, I have two related questions:
1. Does evolution affect a pokemon's lifespan?
2. What is the typical life expectancy of Ivysaur? I've had mine for 22 years. He's generally in excellent health, but I've noticed lately that he's had less energy, and I was wondering if he could just be getting old.
Thank you!
1). Sometimes evolution can affect lifespan. Feebas live around 20-25 years but if they evolve into Milotic, that lifespan extends to 90-100 years
2). Grass types tend to live a lot longer than other pokemon. If they're tended to properly, the entire Venasaur line can live up to 100-150 years! If he's sluggish right now, it could just be that he's sick. I'd suggest taking him to a pokemon center.
Thank goodness! I always assumed that Fern would live a long time because he's a grass type, but when he started slowing down, I realized that his amphibianesque biology might shorten that. Glad to know that's not the case!
Also, took him to the Pokémon center. Joy said he's probably just saving up energy for something, because otherwise he's in great shape. I don't believe it's evolution, because he's worn an everstone for a long time (I don't have space for a venusaur and he doesn't want to have to spend more time than necessary in his pokéball, so that's a mutual choice). He doesn't seem to know what the cause is either, so I guess we're gonna find out together!
