Pokemon Crossbreeds: Empress

Empress is the name for members of the Empoleon line crossed with the Primarina line. Despite the two living in drastically different biomes, the breed can sometimes come about in the wild when Primarina travels too far from the tropical seas on search of food. The breed is loved for its grace and beauty. Like Popplio, they are to produce bubbles (this time through their beaks), making them popular for circuses and shows when the Primarina line isn't available. They also are able to handle warmer climates well.

Piplup

Empress Piplup gain the traits of Popplio such as the coloring and frills. While Piplup are known for being serious and proud, Empress Piplup are a lot more playful than their standard breed counterparts. To play with their trainers and each other, they blow streams of bubbles in their direction.

Prinplup

Empress Prinplup gain the traits of Brionne, such as the torso frills and dual tail. While standard Prinplup live by themselves, Empress Prinplup prefer to live in groups with other Empress Prinplup. The groups sing, blow bubbles, and tap their feet for fun. Their large fins actually make them slower due to not being able to cut through the water as quickly as Prinplup, but they are still strong swimmers.

Empoleon

Empress Empoleon gain the traits of Primarina, like the frills and coloring. Empress Empoleon have also been nicknamed "Opera Empoleon" due to the excellent singing. This breed of Empoleon is mostly nocturnal and most active on moonlit nights where they will sing with others of this breed. In some Sinnoh legends, these Empoleon were thought to be the messengers of merfolk, and seeing one meant good fortune.

Safe to breed?: Piplup + Popplio, Prinplup + Brionne, and Empoleon + Primarina is all safe.

Araquanid mothers do raise their kids, but only for a couple of weeks. They then send the young dewpider out to go search for their own territories. That one children's animals about pokemon did quite a good job of showing it, I'd you're curious! The episode is called "Dewpider Ascending!" The mothers don't lay egg sacs and they just lay their eggs somewhere in the lake. They're often mistake for frog-pokemon eggs because they look similar and have similar textures.

Ariados don't raise their children. The mothers lay the eggs, tie them all up in an egg sac, and put them in the ground or in tree hollows. They leave after that.
