Dol Amrothian Tea
Let’s talk about tea. I don’t drink regular tea, and herbal tea tastes like grass. But tea is comforting! Even the word kind of just wraps you in a cashmere blanket and rubs your back. And, let’s be honest here. This is not tea. This is like cider, but with no apples. This is like punch, but it’s hot. This…this is delicious. Serve with scones to any visiting dignitaries from Rohan, or, heaven forbid - Harad.
Procedure & Ingredients
½ cup sugar ½ cup water
Simmer until sugar is dissolved. Then add:
2 cups water ½ cup orange juice juice from 1 lemon
Heat until desired temperature. Remove from heat and add:
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract ½ teaspoon almond extract
Stir together, and enjoy! Yield: Three mugs

Guyyyyyyysssss, go check out this blog! It’s “a compilation of food that might be eaten in Middle-Earth for any fellow Tolkien fans” - or, as I would describe it, well-written recipes for delicious food that will make both your stomach and your nerdy heart happy. I’ve already added several of their recipes to my kitchen “to-make” list, but this Dol Amrothian Tea is at the top of my list (1. because I love ciders, and 2. because all I’ll have to buy is an orange and a lemon.)
So, go give middleearthrecipes a look. What better way to spend a Sunday (or, for many of my fellow Americans, a work/school-free Monday) than to pop in your favorite Middle Earth movie with theme-appropriate food?
