Star Wars Rey's Portion Bread

Yields 2 small mug cakes

The things you’ll need

Ingredients

2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted

2 tablespoons milk

1 egg, room temperature

1 tabespoon matcha powder

5 tablespoons self-rising flour

Pinch of salt

3 tablespoons granulated sugar

Equipment

2 small ramekins (or 1 large mug)

Small spoon

Glass measuring cup

Small bowl

Let's get started!

Mix matcha powder, flour, salt, and sugar in a small bowl.

Add oil, milk, and an egg to the dry ingredients and mix well.

Evenly divide the batter between two ramekins and microwave for 1 1/2 minutes.

I would like to apologize both personally and on behalf of the entire Portion Bread & Circuses team for my statement yesterday in my “Welcome” post. As many noted, not every post will be hilarious, engaging, or smart even by my standards. 

Some may be all three, others may be only one, and so on. In any case, we will strive to at the very least be interesting enough to distract. Interesting enough to help you tune out the anxiety and stress of the world for the time you’re here with us. And that’s what we’ll do, whether it’s funny or just fun, that is what we will do.

So, there it is. Our first retraction. And as for those calling for me to denounce the use of the bacon slap bracelet gif I ask you, “Was that not still a slap bracelet?” Sure, it may have been digitally altered to look like a piece of bacon, but it was nonetheless a slap bracelet. As such, I stand by our use of the gif in the article while respecting all the many varying points of view on it.
