It’s hard to become excited about the hobby and about my dolls rn, I have to figure out a way how to do face-ups in my tiny apartment… don’t really wanna go outside with them and I don’t wanna gas my car to death either

Try to use matte airbrush sealant and a makeup sponge!!!

It takes a bit more effort to get an even coat, but it's worked well for me and it's a lot easier to get a safe setup in limited space than when using aerosols

I specify airbrush instead of brush on because the particles/consistency is a bit thinner and I found that leads to smoother results

There is no autumn without Autumn, right?

My old pumpkin lady found some friendly mushrooms again, I'm just in love with the scenery these days, the golden light, everything is more muted and not overly bright. Tea tastes better. Do I freeze? Oh yes. But actually I like that more than the numbing heat and brightness summer has.

I also want to re-shell Jax and Angus as sd’s, Jax has up until recently been shelled as a minifee vampire woosoo and Angus as peakswoods fof leo, and I’ve come to terms with msd and yosd is a bit small for me

It’s also a bit annoying to have too many sizes when buying clothes and wigs and such

If anyone’s curious here’s my current dolls:

Mio (luts kid delf yuz)

Robin (bluefairy tinyfairy baked kyle)

Simon (luts/cp delf el, modded)

Barara (merry doll round ophelia)

Oskar (dollshe hound)

Pietro (luts/cp breakaway vampire head)

I’m keeping two msd’s bc I don’t have it in me to let either of them go, Mio has been with me from the start and was my first bjd, and I might get an msd girl in the future (not minifee, they are not for me) but the rest will most likely be sd’s only

Also have a hard time navigating the community, a lot A LOT of people that I used to follow and that inspired me has disappeared (left?)

I’ve been part of this hobby for over ten years and I still have a hard time making friends, that has nothing to do with the hobby itself it’s more about trauma and me self-isolating bc of it but I do think friends with similar interests hype each other up and inspire each other

The reason why I haven’t posted my dolls much or at all in years is bc of personal stuff I have struggled with money and we all know it’s an expensive hobby lmao, and during this time I’ve decided to let many of my dolls go and try to ‘reinvent’ the dolls I have left

Sorry this kinda became a rant somehow

I really fucked myself

I decided to change my email for my doa and it needs to be confirmed bc they lock access to big parts of the site until you confirm your new email but no matter how many times I click “resend confirmation email” I don’t receive one (yes I have checked spam folder) and I can’t ask moderators bc I need to confirm my email to do that

Who would have thought the issue was that I had used a ‘Hotmail’ email and apparently that can’t be used….

Anyway the problem has been solved but my marketplace access was revoked, bc I haven’t posted on doa since 2019 but that’s an easy fix

i am a firm believer that ocs are a reflection of the self in the way that every character you create has to hold some piece of you to really feel alive. sometimes this is why all your ocs have certain traits, sometimes this is why you can track your various issues and traumas all the way from middleschool to now based on what your ocs are like. this is a feature not a bug
