Hidden Correspondences of Christ and Satan throughout Science, Myth, Music, Religion, Mysticism, Astronomy, and Alchemy
Alchemical element: Satan is Nigredo meaning he is death and darkness (and Christ is Rubedo, meaning he is illumination and wholeness. Mythical element: In Greek mythology, Helios, just like Christ, has a symbolic link to the sun, the source of light and life. He is also an embodient of pure knowledge, similar to Christ in John 14:6 (I am the Truth). Meanwhile, Cronus is the devourer, sharing parallels with Malachi 3:11 and 1 Peter 5:8. Satan can also be linked to Ananke, the Limiter, though only subtly. Boreas as freezing dormancy can also be connected to the Aligherian version of Satan. In Isaiah 25:8, John 1:5, and the Baal Cycle, there is a seasonal motif of victory over death by resurrection. Shachar and Shalim, the Canaanite gods of dawn and dusk respectively, also follow this pattern.
Religious element: Satan is the Adversary, linked to cold in Aligherian poetry, and Christ is the Word, linked to heat in Psalm 19:6. Astronomical element: Saturn (which is linked to Cronus/Saturn and further into Satan through the above metaphors), is an unrealized star, a cold gas giant without fusion. Meanwhile the Sun (commonly linked to Christ/Helios), is fully realized. Theoretically, Saturn would need about 75 times more mass to become a star. Astrological element: The Sun's rule is also linked to Leo (Jul 23-Aug 22), which connects to the Lion of Judah (which is a metaphor for Christ) and also summer, the time when growth is full. The Sun resurrects during Aries (Mar 21-Apr 19). Saturn rules Capricorn (Dec 22-Jan 19). Don't you notice the Mediterranean death-resurrection motif repeated here again?
Musical element: Black metal is often linked to winter and Satan, so there is a connection to the cold planet of Saturn which rules the cold season of the year. In contrast, Gregorian chants (for Christ's purity) or neo-disco (for summer vibes) allegorically corresponds to the Cosmic Christ, the solar Logos behind all physical constants and energetic consciousness. Theological element: In some intepretations of Origen, even Satan is redeemable and can transmute into his Logos-bearing state known as Lucifer. Mystical/psychospiritual element: Satan is a representation of the shadow self and descent to chaos, whereas Christ represents the higher self and ascent to fullness.
