The struggle of young Lawyers is real, especially, the one with no legal family background. They struggle everyday, every minute. The running around here and there in court premises, following the instructions of their Senior Advocate, eyes on screen all day, the pressure of deadlines, initially the unpaid internships, then not so good enough salary in litigation in the starting period of career, and not to forget the 12-14hours of work schedule in Law firms. Sometimes anxiety kicks in and makes one question their life decision that if they really want all these.
Litigation is different than corporate. Here you will have to learn everything at your own. Taking care of yourself along with work is a quality you must learn as soon as possible. Nobody will teach you anything. A good mentor can guide you but you need to do the hard work. Every year around Fifty thousands of young lawyers join litigation only. One can achieve their dreams only if they're passionate enough to work harder and go extra mile. But with all the stress? No.
The mental health matters. Of course it does and there are many campaigns going on to save lives but nobody is concerned talking about mental health of young lawyers (first generation lawyers especially) cuz nobody cares.
Take care of your mental health side by side by taking some time out for yourself.
