Flashback Friday: Stars and Sunflowers, a Homage to Vincent Van Gogh.
Back in December 2019, myself friends and I were fortunate to see the #VanGoghisAlive exhibit at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
The whole experience was unlike any other. To say that it was otherworldly and beautiful is an understatement. For a full hour, we were immersed in a room that projected the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh.
Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who became one of the most famous and influential artists in history. With his bold brushwork, command of color and avant-garde style, he created thousands of paintings that even up to this day are admired and loved by people. His most notable work, Starry Night Sky has been deeply engraved into pop culture and is a favorite by many.
The exhibit not only showed the works of Vincent, but it also bared his life raw and unfiltered. He Lived in poverty, depression and was considered as an outcast, Vincent took the pain that he felt and he made it into art.
Realizing he died feeling unappreciated made me feel sorrow, he deserved to be praised and loved because of his work. If Vincent were to be alive today, I would tell him "You are an amazing person, you took your pain and made something beautiful. Your work will forever be remembered and loved".
On that note, I will forever honor Vincent by sharing to people the magnificence of his work and how I admire his life.

All About Me
The Greeks once said, “know thyself”, this aphorism written in the depths of the omphalos still ring true today. There is such power in understanding our innermost thoughts and emotions.
By knowing ourselves, we create the foundation of our being. We follow paths to where we want to go to. Furthermore, we become confident in our strides because we know our place in this huge world. We follow our dreams in hopes that a bigger future awaits us, a future where we keep on learning and discovering who we are.
For my first post, I would like to share 10 things that I’ve learned about myself thus far. Through sharing these intimate pieces of myself, I hope that you will get to know me more as a person. Some of these tidbits will be shared more in detail as I continue blogging about my life.
So, without further ado, here are 10 facts about me.
1. I love taking pictures. Some of my best photos can be found on my Instagram account. Feel free to explore if you get a chance.
2. I am a bibliophile. People often associate my personality with the typical nerd who loves books and reading. I personally have a bookshelf filled with amazing titles. (FYI, I’ll be doing some book reviews for this blog, so watch out!)
3. I travel a lot. So far, I’ve only been travelling in my country the Philippines. But I hope that I can begin travelling internationally soon.
4. I am a sucker for good art. Regardless if it’s a doodle on the back of a notebook, a painting at a museum or a mural in our neighborhood, I will always end up gushing over it.
5. I love celestial bodies and the cosmos. Whenever I look up at the nighttime sky, I just can’t help but feel awe and wonder over the beauty of the stars and moon.
6. I am passionate about animals and nature. I feel that it is man’s duty to preserve nature and make it into a better place to live in. (Some of my posts will be related to this as well)
7. I pride myself in being a member of the LGBTQ community. I am an out and proud gay dude who is not afraid to express myself in things that I love. Furthermore, I firmly believe that loving should never be limited to once sexual orientation or gender identity.
8. I constantly seek adventures. I am restless and oftentimes have a habit of looking for new things to try and experience. Cliché as it sounds, we only have this life to live, so why not fill it with adventures and discoveries?
9. I have a knack for sharing quotes and sayings.
10. I am still in the process of learning about myself.
Thus, I started this blog to share this journey. I hope that through reading my post, I’ll be able to inspire you and help you know yourself as well.
