i feel like we’ve been overexposed to adore you because it was a single (like who were you if you weren’t listening to it on a loop the day it came out) but it is without a doubt one of the strongest songs on the album those fucking 80s synths that fucking guitar solo the fucking harmonies!!!!!!! like how fucking catchy is that beat??? and the warring lyrical themes of reverence and infatuation and desperation and defeat!!!!! the song is a goddamn jam but then you listen and it goes off and breaks your heart like “ you don’t have to say you love me you don’t have to say nothing you don’t have to say you’re mine” what the fuck!!!! and the build of the pre-chorus before it bursts into the chorus in the most satisfying way!!!! “strawberry lipstick state of mind” like that’s some metaphor we’ve got there????? the way he sings “you’re WON-der UN-der summer skies” in a way that just hits you in the chest? the absolute delicacy of the harmonies in refrain of ‘it’s the only thing i’ll ever do’ during the bridge???? along with the way those synths and guitar solo were paired together to work perfectly for the bridge??? LIKE THAT’S A PERFECT BRIDGE!!!!  bitch!!!!!!! he did that!!!! oh HONEY!
