Look around you. Appreciate what you have. Nothing will be the same in a year.
I reblogged this exactly one year ago. Since then I’ve studied abroad in London, completed a film internship, started my job at Kinokuniya, accepted to both UCLA and USC for an MFA in Screenwriting, and graduated from BU. It’s amazing how much one can change within a single year. Here’s to many more one years; I’m excited to see what happens next! (2017) (via adeardreams)
So it’s been two years since I last reblogged this. I’ve made some amazing friends, wrote some scripts that I absolutely ADORE, and interned at some of my favorite companies. I’m graduating from UCLA this Friday. I’ve grown so much as a writer and a person (and have watched a ton of good shit too!). Here’s to another year. (2019)

I always reblog this post around mid-June. The first with just the quote in 2016. A reblog in 2017, then last year (2019). Now it’s 2020 and this statement is more true than ever. Within the past year, I moved into an apartment I absolutely love with @lifeascaty. I wrote three episodes for two webshows (with over 5 million views for my episodes alone) as a working writer. I spent about a month in Tokyo, two weeks all by myself (and it was wonderful). I made a lot of great memories with my friends and finally felt at home in LA (after nearly 3 years of living here). Obviously, there have been a lot of plot twists within the past few months alone and I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m grateful for what I have now. (2020)

Now it is mid-July in 2021, so I’m a little late, but what is time? Nearly five years since I initially reblogged this post. I suppose some things have changed. I have reps for both film/TV writing and publishing, which is really cool. Starting a job on Monday and some other fun things in the works. So much still feels the same though. Maybe it feels like I’m making some progress, but the world is standing still. Curious to see what the next year will hold. (2021)

Hello from July 2023! Little life update. I live in Japan now - I’ve been here for almost a full year. I am living my best life and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I will be published either this year or next with for an incredibly exciting project. I study Japanese, read good books, and explore new parts of Japan with my friends and partner. I am happy more days than not. I have those quiet, peaceful weekends in an loved apartment that I only dreamed of.
