Chicken Stuff

Maybe he's doing this because deep down, he wishes for Dream to change his mind. Maybe because he's tired of pleading and watching his cries go unheard as he's cut and choked.

Maybe he wants to torment Dream with his image or just his mere presence. So that when Dream finally kills him, he'll be reminded of these moments. Moments that he'll never have back because he's truly gone. Haunting him forever.

Maybe he keeps going back because he misses the person he loved and used to trust. The one person he thought who would have his back and catch him when he falls. The one person he wished he could run into and feel his warm embrace once more.

Maybe, maybe, maybe.

He's an enigma even to himself. Sometimes, he wonders why he still goes back to Dream. Just to mess with him. Just put his life on the line and in danger as he barges into enemy territory. Just so his friends can save him and redo the cycle once more.

Why doesn't he just run?

Run far, far away with his companions to the edge of the multiverse. Or maybe permanently settle in the Omega Timeline where he's already been given a home and a safe place to stay and reside. Where neither JR nor Dream himself can enter due to Core!Frisk's own demand.

Unwilling to let someone like Dream enter their domain.

Where he can live the rest of his days with his friends in peace, have fun and mess around and return home safe. Without getting hurt or causing trouble to others like they always do.

...

But what's the fun in that?

What's the fun in living a peaceful life where he can't mess with Dream and prank him as his own version of revenge? What's the point of surving this long only to disappear from the man that ruined his life?

That's not fair. He might as well annoy the other to death while he's still here.

So what if he's attached? What if no matter how far he runs, he'll always return back to Dream. That, no matter the universes between them, they'll always be connected no matter what. In the end, they'll always be intertwined, if not by fate, then by the string that bind both their lives together.

Maybe he himself doesn't know why he does it.

And well, he’s not going to sit in silence and let his thoughts consume him. He knows what happened the last time he did that. So he'll always be on the move! Doing something so that his mind doesn't have to think too hard about what happens next!!

Just live in the present!
