remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.

The way everyone sees Stratt as the boss and Grace as her second and their leadership as a partnership.

Stratt is aloof, she’s mission oriented and keeps her distance to ensure she can do what she needs to do. She has the power, she has the final say, and she seemingly bows to no one and nothing. She’s is the driving force behind it all.

Grace is incredibly smart, and he’s taking it all very seriously, but he offsets it with being a little goofy. He breaks down intimidating science using his teacher background, he’s a socially awkward people person and the one who actually spends more time with the team.

Grace is always one step behind Stratt, for every meeting and important recruitment he’s there. In turn, he’s the person she goes to when she has to make decisions or needs information and advice. It’s got a sense of balance to it even if the power is ultimately one sided. Grace softens Stratt and acts as the glue keeping things together. It’s not romantic (despite what half the team thing) but it’s an incredibly dynamic partnership.

And the karaoke scene represents that very well in the movie. Grace is at the party, even though he’s more or less sitting alone, he’s in the room, he’s there with everyone. Stratt is apart from everyone and only shows up when Grace goes to get her, and only briefly.
