By having students study theater, educators can achieve both humanistic goals of changing perspectives and deepening understanding as well as an instrumentalist approach to building specific capacities, improving skills and changing targeted behaviours.

How can we expect emotional intelligence from students when we dehumanize them (and the material they’re learning) by teaching for the sake of tests?
