lol i identify with the how to get away with murder kids because i, too, wouldn’t be able to make friends unless i was bound to them by an act of questionable legality in which we all participated 

like the entirety of the joke is “haha I’m homophobic / transphobic” & the entirety of the punchline is “oops! I can’t believe you thought I was actually homophobic/transphobic!” & it’s just like ??? the entire substance of the joke relies on the person telling the joke to have the power to act violently against the audience.

The joke also relies on implying that lgbt people are irrational and out of line to expect violence. It’s the exact same kind of joke as, “overly sensitive marginalized person misunderstands totally innocent person and yells at them for saying something oppressive when they did nothing wrong” and all they do is imply oppression is over and oppressed people are cry babies

Shit, yeah, this is a thing that is hard to articulate. Some people don’t feel healed by forgiving the people who hurt them, because that’s what they kept doing over and over and it only led to getting more hurt. Sometimes you feel healed when you’re finally brave enough to say “This person was horrible to me, and I did not deserve that treatment, and I don’t have to be okay with it.”
