every time someones says "hey how are you" and i say "good" and forget to add the "how about you?" i feel like i've missed a quicktime event

Truly one of the best scenes of any television show. Walter spent the whole show rationalizing his actions as for his family putting himself into the role of the protector/provider of his family. This was shown to be a cope throughout the show with Walt using it as a way to alleviate the cognitive dissonance of his actions as being for his family. This scene is the culmination of that build up his family left in ruin, his wife bleeding terrified of him, and his son protecting her from him. It’s a moment where Walt is confronted with what he did to his family and who he has become. As Skylar said who is going to protect the family from the man who protects the family.

Everything is embarrassing if you live your life through the eyes of others btw
