I just really love when we get queer stories with middle aged characters. Like yeah there's a bunch of queer teen romances out there which are also great, but it just hits different when they're a little older?? They're more unique since you get very different people meeting each other that already lived a life, but now they get to experience something they haven't before. Like nothing makes my heart happier than having this middle aged man that never experienced true happiness and thought he just wasn't good enough for it meet this other guy that is just the sun personified and together they make each other better (or worse, big fan of that as well).

have you ever been in one of those moods where you don’t really know whats wrong but you feel really irritated with everyone and everything?
At the risk of sounding optimistic, let me share what is genuinely the best and most consistently useful life advice I have ever received:
If you think you hate everyone, eat something. If you think everyone hates you, go to sleep. If you think you hate yourself, take a shower.
If you feel unrealistically miserable out of nowhere, drink water.
I have just recently realized that if I feel unrealistically miserable out of nowhere, I’m actually experiencing digestive symptoms.
This knowledge does not make the digestive symptoms go away, but it makes it much easier to tell myself, “Your life isn’t an unredeemable wreck; it’s just that your intestines are a little unhappy.” And then I go do something else and I feel better.
i get that for most people tragedy is just always gonna feel Bad to read and that informs a lot of bury your gays discourse but we must not forget that a lot of people sincerely enjoy writing and reading tragedy and queer audiences still deserve to have good tragedies written by and for them imo
like i hope i don't have to explain that there's a difference between a lovingly crafted tragic romance by a queer author featuring characters that represent them and a shitty tv show introducing a single gay character for brownie points then immediately killing them off for shock value
