“If you don’t like how the table is set, turn over the table”

After observing quite a few strong personal brands, I've noticed they use one or more of these tactics - 

1. Stand out (visually and beneath the surface) - Play up unique physical attributes of your appearance, have unique interests that others may get attracted towards, stay away from the ‘herd mentality’/stereotypical behavior.

2. Be consistent (appear, behave, project) - Consistently emphasize a few quality attributes of your personality that you want others to remember you by.

3. Stand for something - Be passionate about something.  Have interests/hobbies that you really enjoy getting more deeply involved in and have a lot of passion for.  Try to 'know everything’ about a few things you are really passionate about.

4. Acknowledge your roots - Consistently remember, acknowledge and emphasize on your roots, where you came from, what you stand for, how you got where you are.  Identify a few key principles of your brand that you should avoid compromising at all costs.

5. Experiment in a controlled environment - Surprise others once in a while in a way that doesn’t deviate from #2 but helps you with #1 above.  Too much consistency is boring.  Innovate.  Change with time without compromising your brand too much. Make that slight unpredictability a part of your spontaneous behavior.
