Acceptable reasons to have an abortion:
All of them. All reasons are valid No one else knows what your situation is No one else knows what your capabilities are You are the only person qualified to decide if YOU want or need an abortion
ABORTION IS A RIGHT. IT IS ALSO HEALTH CARE.
Thanks for posting about your experiences. It's nice to not feel so alone and it's a topic that needs to be talked about more often to end the stigma. I had my abortion a month ago and i am struggling a bit. Would love to know your personal blog :)

Reblog/Like if you are Pro-Choice!
If not, then how many unwanted children will you adopt when abortion is illegal? How many hospital bills will you pay for due to dangerous, self-induced, illegal abortions?
My abortion was great.
My abortion was safe.
My abortion was smart.
My abortion was good.
My abortion changed me for the better.

My abortion was handled with respect.
I am proud of my abortion.
I am proud of myself.
Hello Followers
It's been a while since I've posted anything on this blog. It's been over a year since the abortion. I still think about it. It's no longer as painful. I think when it gets to me the most is when I am playing with my friends children. I know that I made the right decision but I can't help but think sometimes that I could have done it. It's strange to feel completely two ways about something. I'm glad I have the life I have right now. I know that my life would be completely different if I had a child. Yet I mourn for something I never had. So just know if you are reading this that it is okay to feel however you feel before, during, and after your abortion. It may be confusing as it is for me and that's okay. You are not alone and I love you and respect any decision you make for yourself whether it be having a baby or not having a baby.
Today sucks.
I hate sitting here feeling guilty that my boyfriend isn't celebrating Father's Day.
don’t just reblog this.. think.. there are women in this world who have inserted coat hangers into themselves in order to force/create an abortion… because.. men in government thought more about the words in the Bible than the rights of women and their bodies.
Illegal abortions caused the death of many many women, infertility, horrendous internal damage and infection and royally fucked with the emotional well being of so many woman.
THERE ARE WOMEN WHO HAVE STUCK HANGERS INSIDE OF THEM IN ORDER TO INDUCE AN ABORTION BECAUSE THE GOVT CARES MORE ABOUT WORDS IN A BOOK THAN WOMEN’S LIVES.

NEVER AGAIN.

After the abortion
I was very high off of the medication, and honestly hadn't eaten much because I was nervous, even though you're supposed to, so I felt sick to my stomach. We started driving and I was like no way, I need to walk around or something til this wears off. So we went to the zoo. I know this sounds super strange, but I really needed to be somewhere and I was high and wanted animals. That whole trip was a blur. We weren't there long, but enough for me to start feeling a bit less sick.
We drove home, and I honestly don't remember all that much, I mean I was awake but the rest of that day was sorta blurry. We went back to the house I was watching and fell asleep with my boyfriend. The next few days I had some cramping. Day three was probably the worst. It honestly didn't last longer than a week. I had light, dark brown spotting, more the first couple days, and then It lessened day by day. A few pieces of uteran lining, but nothing scary, honestly I've had scarier looking periods.
I had to take the antibiotics for 7 days, and once I ended those I felt much better, because they made me feel gross too. I've been doing normal stuff, and feeling like myself for the most part.
My appetite has been super fucked up though. When I was pregnant I had begun getting nauseous, which I don't do well with. I have not thrown up since 4th grade, and have severe anxiety about the subject. It's called Emetephobia. It contributes a lot to my anxiety disorder. So as you can imagine I didn't take this nausea well. I didn't eat much, and felt horrible. The closer I got to the abortion, the more nervous I became and the less I wanted to eat. After, I felt sick as well, and then the antibiotics continued to make me feel sick. Now It's like my body has forgotten how to be hungry. I eat what I would normally eat and feel sick and bloated. I don't know if It's just my anxiety or what, but It's very frustrating.
I've also had some emotional issues following. I was crying a lot at first, which has mostly subsided. It bothers me to see babies right now. Everywhere I go. Babies. I mean I feel like It's practically being forced on me. I know I'm just over sensitive. My boyfriend and I are doing okay for the most part now, but It's been rough, I'm not gonna lie. We had a conversation not long after the abortion where he told me he was offended that I hadn't wanted his baby at all. It made me feel bad for not feeling bad about that aspect of it. It made me feel even more like he probably resents me for this. It's going to be an issue later I know, because I don't know if I will ever be comfortable with being pregnant. He also made a comment about how I could have helped him pay for it. I work one job, and do not make enough to do barely anything and I still live at home. I couldn't afford it, and if I had paid for It I would have no money to leave my house. Literally. I understand that he paid for it and that is a very honorable thing to do, but when It comes down to it making me feel bad about things I can't control doesn't help me to feel positive about the choice that I made. I've been having trouble sleeping, and had more panic attacks in the last three weeks than I have had in a very long time.
I'm depressed and confused why I feel that way.
I know what I did was right, and I don't want a child right now, so why do I feel so guilty?

The Abortion
I didn't sleep but an hour the night before because It took my boyfriend forever to get to the house that I was watching. I had to be at the clinic at 8am and It was at least two hours away. The ride there we smoked a blunt, and listened to music and such. I tried to stay calm as possible. I was really relieved the day was here. We pulled into the parking lot and the first thing that I see is a man shouting with a sign just off the property. Protesters. I knew they would be there. There were three. The guy behind us had a van parked just off the road. It had pictures of dead babies all over it. Not actual abortions probably, just graphic shit to make you feel bad. He had a large sign inviting you into his creepy van to get an ultrasound. There was also a group of woman with a sign with other options and trying to give flowers to people. We sat in the car and a very tall woman with dark skin and short blonde hair, in a security uniform came up and told us she would check us in and took our ID's. Then she came back, gave them back, and told us to wait. A bunch more girls showed up, with there drivers and boyfriends and such. They gave all the drivers name tags that said "DRIVER" on them. We stood around getting yelled at by the first protester, some gospel bullshit. Girls pushed past him to stand around. The man with the creepy ass van started taking pictures of us, which we were then informed was apparently legal as they had tried to stop it before. I put up my hood. Fucking asshole.
We go inside and go up a couple flights of stairs and all stand in a long line where they give us a folder with a bunch of paperwork to fill out. We all go in a room with some clipboards and pens and do that, and hand it to the receptionist. Then we all wait in this giant waiting room. I don't know how many girls. Maybe 25? I don't know, I'm bad at estimating. There was a TV on in the middle, but It was hard to see and something stupid was on, I can't even remember what It was honestly. Everyone was just talking in hushed tones to there drivers. There were so many different girls in there. It made me feel better to know that. A girl got up and threw up in the bathroom which we were sitting by. Just made me more nervous.
They call you back Four times before you get the call to go downstairs for the actual abortion. First you get taken back for the ultrasound, which is not fun cause stick in the vagina. This is to find out how far along you are and to confirm the pregnancy. I was only about 5-6 weeks. There wasn't even a heartbeat. The tech sounded shocked, like that doesn't happen often. It looked like a spot to me. I asked to keep the picture. That might be weird, but It's something I experienced. The second time you get your blood taken to see whether you are + or -, because the drugs they give you affect you differently accordingly or something of that nature, I have + blood which isn't effected so I didn't care. They had to do it anyway. So they prick your finger and test it. I'm pretty sure they test you for meth too. I began to debate with the phlebotomist about whether I need the "relaxation medication" or not and this girl sitting in a chair looks at me and goes "Get the meds, because I can't..." I laughed and was silently thinking about how yes, I wanted the meds. Next they take you to what they call a counseling session, but it was totally a psychiatric evaluation. Basically they want to make sure that you fully understand what you are doing. They don't want to be liable for some high ass bitch coming in there, aborting there baby, and then somehow blaming them. I get It. It was still super weird. They had me listen to a prerecorded CD and initial that I hadn't been on Meth, or a bunch of other stuff, and that I understood what I was doing, again. The lady was really nice though. She totally recognized the fact that I was an intelligent human being and was joking with me about stuff. The last thing that you do before going downstairs is get the IV port put in if you are getting the relaxation medication. I decided I was, so I got that put in my hand, which there is still a bruise from. That was not pleasant. Then I finally went downstairs. I waited in a smaller waiting room for a little while with my boyfriend and then he had to leave me, which I didn't like. We kissed goodbye and I got taken through the recovery room which was full of half passed out girls in reclining dental looking chairs with heating pads attached to them. There was one girl who was very much awake, very pale and did not look good at all. She was the same girl who told me she couldn't have the medicine. Thank god I was. I was then handed a purple bag with a sheet and told to go in one of the long line of changing rooms and wrap up in it from the waste down, and have a seat. There were 4 other girls in the room with me. I changed and went to the corner and plugged in my phone. Everyone was quiet at first, which they had been all day. I was trying not to be nervous, fiddling on my phone, and then one of the girls said something. I said something back, we all started talking. They told me the reason the girl I had looked so bad in there is because she was on Meth in the last 72 hours and couldn't have the pain meds. Then we all talked about how far along we were. They were all at about 10 weeks. They were all very nice, and I think we all made each other laugh It was something we all needed at that time. Comfort, knowing we weren't alone. They called the first girl back. Then me. A nurse that had bright red hair and glasses took me back. I had seen her earlier and hoped I would have her. You get on this medical chair/table thing and put your feet in stirrups, and then they tell you It's time for the medication. In my IV it goes, and they tell me to count back from 60, I got to 30...then I felt it alright. Next they give you a shot in your cervix. Then the abortion. They take what looks like a very skinny clear tube and literally suck it out. That did hurt. You know what it feels like when you are having sex and the guy goes to deep and It hits you deep and cramps? Its like that. Only worse, and It happens over and over. But then Its over. It was not the worst pain I've ever felt. I don't much remember the trip to the recovery room. I think there was a wheelchair involved. I came to in one of those big chairs, and put on the heating pad. Then they gave me crackers and had me take and antibiotic. They then switched me to a regular chair and had me sign something and get my prescriptions. I went with her to find my boyfriend, and then we left.
Volunteers formed a protective wall of love around the Morgentaler clinic as the Right to Life march passed by on May 15th in Fredericton.
Anti-choicers purchased the house next to the clinic years ago and it is their base of operations. They protest the clinic on a regular basis.
