Ok but why they look so coupley here??? Also (and as usual!), all it took for George to seem like heâs going through an existential crisis was a gentle touch from a slightly older man đââď¸đââď¸
So both Toto and Kimi in the scheduled press conferences? How nice...
ANOTHER ANGLE, THANKS CARMEN!!!

The fact that George made a post with Alex even putting it on his story and totally ignored whatever Mercedes is trying to do right now as damage control, tells me everything I need to know about the situation đđźđđźđđź
bros before
"The internal dynamic in the Mercedes garage has also shifted. Russell has already started playing some mind games to shift the pressure onto you. Does that affect you?
KA: "Itâs not the first time weâve seen âmind games.â People always try to shift the pressure onto their current opponentâwhether itâs an external rival or a teammate, it doesnât make much difference. Iâm lucky that these things just roll off my back. Weâre still in the first third of the season, and I think itâs definitely too early to start talking about the championship race. Iâm taking it one race at a time. Sure, at the end of the weekend I always take a look at the standings, but right after that my mind is already on the next race. When I lower my visor and head out onto the track, I donât think about the championship. I race to do the best I can. And besides, as Iâve already said, since I havenât won anything yet, I have nothing to lose.â"
So Kimi is agreeing with the question and believes George is playing mind games?
Oooookay.
That stupid comment by Toto that @caffeinatedbouquet63 (here) and @f1ficsandfuel (here) mentioned, for the geoblocked.
Basically, the interviewer is asking what he expects from this duel, joking that it was basically between 'best friends' and Toto says maybe they will crash into each other and Kimi will win.
Ugh.
This seems to be making the rounds again...a food time to remind ourselves of what Toto has wanted from the start.

Interesting...
I am seeing so many parallels between George and Michael Ballack. I truly hope the parallels will end soon...and forever involve only sport (if they must) and not their personal lives in any way.
But what they have in common is the lack of support from the media in their own country, and from their own teams and coaches, but bravely taking on the 'untouchables' in their sport, being constantly misunderstood, being a leader and helping their team even at their own expense and barely receiving any appreciation for it, not being destined to win the titles they long for (hopefully George still will), being seen as 'old school' (though in different ways), standing up for their best friend in the sport, trying to help them regain their position (though Ballack eventually lost his...at least partly as a result), being a bit known for crying (from feeling too much), having a young teammate as a 'usurper', just waiting to 'stab them in the back'...other colleagues not liking that they have a vision they try to communicate and a resilience they do not have...I feel like the more I think about it, the more there is to note.
Toto Wolff about Kimi Antonelli
âAfter Lewis, we now have a new global rock star at Mercedes,â said Wolff. âHe thrills the masses, from young to old. It doesnât matter what gender is cheering him on.
âYes, we canât go to a restaurant together anymore. Immediately, lines of autograph hunters form. Then thereâs no peace and quiet.â
I don't know what George can do against Toto Wolff dream project.
Honestly, I don't think it's a secret that George isn't the world's most popular driver, but I don't think Toto possesses the introspection to realise the role both he and Mercedes have played in that, and how their different upbringings affect how they're seen and behave, and hes unlikely to honestly address that now he has dollar signs in his eyes with his new cash cow.
George has always towed the line, done what he's been told and strive to be the "perfect Mercedes boy" straight out of the Mercedes PR handbook. When Lewis came to Mercedes he was already a superstar. George is the first driver to make it from Mercedes junior academy to the senior team and I don't think people appreciate how that's it's own poison chalice. From the perspective of Mercedes, he's not the middle child, he's the first born. He's essentially the test subject for the marketing department and they've kept him on a tight leash at every turn.
I think it's also underestimated how someone in George's position, likely doesn't feel he has the leverage to pushback against what he's told to do. He feels indebted to Mercedes for funding his career, he doesn't have any other options or connections in the paddock. Dictating how you want to be perceived and having the freedom to fully be yourself is a luxury reserved for those in a position of privilege in a sport like this. George's dad brought him up with fear of failure instilled in him. That fun was unprofessional. Essentially encouraged him to make himself small to not cause a fuss. Never bite the hand that feeds you. The result being that he never quite seems himself and the sort of awkwardness of trying desperately to be what someone else has told him to be reads as inauthentic.
Then Kimi comes along. The PR team can correct the 'mistakes' they made with George. Where they told George to rein it in, keep calm, polite, never complain, be a polished and corporate gentleman - now they have a teenager and they can tell him to do the opposite. To be large and loud and exert his personality. He has the confidence to run free, people from his sort of financial upbringing are taught that the world will fit around you. He's given the space to be himself which in turn breeds the perception of authenticity, which is the currency these days in marketing. He's not afraid to command a room of adults to participate in his silly pranks because he's got the confidence to just be and the freedom to just exist on his own terms, and unsurprisingly people buy in to that.
sure why not

So this was in the Miami Sprint Quali. I remember reading about it, I think, but didn't see it till today. 13 or 14 seconds to be able to remove the headrest? Not good, and fingers crossed never to be repeated.
Oh wow...totally missed this.
Also from the replies...re the headrest, let's hope they have resolved this and/or he never needs to get out of the car quickly...yikes.
