“What– are we not going for a run today?” Marcus asked, having been the one to show up at Abi’s house for their morning run instead of vice versa.

Abigail looked at the other through sleep filled eyes, hair a mess and still in her pjs as she looked at the other, “I think I might be sick.” Her voice was off, sinus’ congested as she rested her head against her door. “Which is weird cause I’m the picture of health and shouldn’t get sick.”

“Please– never again,” Max groaned, “You know how much I hate working out and today was more brutal than ever. Are you trying to get some sort of anger out and I happen to be caught in the crossfire unintentionally?”

“You’re such a wuss.” Abigail commented with a shake of her head, nudging the other in the shoulder. “You love working out, if you hated it you wouldn’t do it with me. I’m like your own personal trainer at this point, except for the fact that you don’t pay me.... Maybe I should start getting you to pay me.” She mused. “This is just a moderate work out for me honey, I dread to think what would be left of you if I kicked it up to intense.”

“I ran into my ex-fiancé,” Arabella admitted, practically downing the glass of wine in following of her statement. “Thoughts on packing up everything and moving to like New Mexico or something? Grove Harbour is getting too small of a town for me.”

“I mean it has to be bad given that was my wine-..” Abigail commented, though she was already calling the waiter for a bottle since it seemed to be that kind of night. “I do like the sun.” Abigail commented, patting her chin as she looked to the other. “But I’m not letting you run, you running is them winning and I know you don’t want to give them the satisfaction.”

“Pretty sure I had my eye on this first so I will take that– thank you,” Julian replied before plucking the record from beneath her gaze and beginning to walk away.

“Wait-... you can’t just take that when I more or less had it in my grasp. I was reading the sleeve for god’s sake.” Abigail commented marching over to the other, “I’m not beyond kicking your ass if that’s what it’s got to come to mystery stranger.”

“Do I need to say it in another language for you to get it? No. No is no.” Aaron repeated, resisting the urge to hit the woman with whatever the closest thing was. “God you’re irritating.”

"English is fine, but what if- I pouted.” Abigail commented, getting closer to the other, raising herself on her tiptoes as she pouted at the other man. “I may be irritating but you still choose to be my friend, so this is really more of a you problem than a me problem.”

“Sorry, sorry.” Aiden said, appearing from behind the counter, “I’m the only one in right now and I’m not a waiter but I’ll be right with you!”

“Is there something interesting going on behind there?” Abigail chuckled, standing on her tiptoes to try and peer over the top. “It’s fine, I’m in no rush. I didn’t know what time you opened and just took a chance, actually.” She commented, “So, who did you piss off to get this shift?” She teased.

“That does sound like quite the story,” Arabella replied, her interest piqued by the other’s anecdotes. “You are planning to tell me how that ended though, right? Nobody likes a cliff hanger. Especially not in real life.”

“What can I say I lead and interesting life.” Abigail commented with a small shrug, a sly teasing smile falling onto her face as she listened  as the other continued. “Maybe I will leave it on a cliffhanger, it’ll keep you intrigued and maybe have you coming to hang out with me more. I mean- since you’ve managed to make time for what-... half an hour of your busy schedule. Maybe my stories are all I have to get you to hang out with me now.”

“I mean, if someone has that little confidence in their abilities…” Christian couldn’t help but tease. “You have to feel sorry for them.”

“You do know that I can hear you perfectly, right?” Mara huffed, looking from one to another.

“Are we playing or are we chatting?” Alastair asked, rolling his eyes at the group.

“In the sense of full disclosure-” Abigail started, raising her hand as though she was answering a question in school. “I have no idea how to play, I’ve only seen this in movies.”

“Not exactly,” Max admitted with a chuckle. At her following words he couldn’t help but look to her with a little more concern than his previous expression, “While that’s a… that’s a solution. It’s not a great thing to do all the time. Are you okay?”

“I’m not going to do it all the time silly, just when I have to be you know- productive. I’m fine, really- you don’t need to worry about me.” She told the other with a small tap to her nose.

“Oh dios mio, Abby, you look fantastic!” Ronnie exclaimed, “Why have you never showed me this outfit before now?”

"I honestly forgot I had it- it’s been hiding in the back of my closet for who knows how long.” Abigail commented, twirling slightly in the dress, “It’s not too fancy for just going for coffee right?”

“Yeah. Nothing I haven’t heard before though,” he shrugged back. “That’s me,” Chase nodded in confirmation. “You’re the floaty glowing fairy girl uh– Abigail, right?”

“Floaty glowing fairy girl- you know, that sums me up pretty well. But yeah, Abigail. Which rolls off the tongue better then that description.”

“Trust me, the whole ‘mother fucker’ joke was very funny the first time, but now you just look like an idiot,” Chase rolled his eyes, not really bothered by the comments. He had no shame in what he had done since he had his reasons, but he hoped it wouldn’t throw a wrench in the plans he originally had. Perhaps his father wouldn’t pay the story much attention. He was pretty convinced his dad didn’t even have a Twitter account anyways. “I don’t have an Oedipus complex. She’s not actually mom, you realize that right? She’s only like three years older than me too. If anything, it’s my dad you should’ve been judging this whole time.”

“Wait- are people seriously making those kind of jokes to you?” Abigail asked the other, coffee in hand as she was nearing the others table, just happening to overhear the conversation the other was having. “Sorry- I wasn’t actively listening it, not really-.. you’re Chase right, you were at the animal shelter with me?”

“I’m honestly pretty impressed with you that you still have the energy to sparkle when I’m sure you were functioning as a human nightlight the whole blackout. Did you get yourself some rest? You deserve it, Abi.”

“You’re impressed but are you really that surprised?” Abigail asked the other, normally she was known to have energy for days, a few hours of being a constant nightlight wasn’t too bad, after all it’s not like she was putting her wings to use. “I got a few hours, but who needs rest when you can have a ginger shot and coffee.”

“I mean there are worst places we could get stuck.” she shrugged her shoulders as she glanced over at the other. “At least here there are cute defenceless animals to protect.” she tried to see the light side to their situation if there was one. “I doubt we’ll be here for long anyways right?”

“I think we lucked out.” Abigail commented, already sat among a group of puppies which were climbing over her. “The real danger here is me ending up going home with one of them. But I don’t know how long we’ll be here, depends on what’s happening outside. At least you’re with someone who can provide light though-” She commented, looking at the other as she let her powers radiate around her and across the room briefly before returning to the puppy mound in front of her.
