What happened to Anselma? Who cares, here's DLC that reveals an entire community secretly lives under the monastery. All those weird rumours in the base game about the monastery being haunted and mysterious and full of secrets? 90% of them are about the secret undercity of Garreg Mach. There is just a library full of alleged church secrets just lying here with no guards, even though the Golden Deer route shows stuff like that is heavily controlled and censored (where the fuck is Seteth, he literally confiscated a mytholgical book on the Immaculate One from Claude because of the slightest chance it could blow Rhea's cover, but there is an entire city under the monastery full of people with a bone to pick and access to the Library Of Forbidden Knowledge). Also, here are four new quirky characters and a plot line about how Byleth's mom had a stalker-ish secret admirer. Have fun with that.

3 houses spin-off! Do you still want to know what happened to Anselma? Here's Shez, they were raised by someone who might have had ties to TWSITD. What, you think she was Anselma? No! She's just another mother with a strange and unexplained fate we attached to a major character of the game. Anyway, here are several essays on the socio-economic conditions of Fódlan. We have time for this, but no time at all to answer what happened to the biological and adoptive mother of two of our three major characters. If it makes you feel better, we never even see either of the parents of the third protagonist! But, Claude does have a brother, we can show you that much.

Remember how the endings of 3 Hopes were literally left inconclusive because the writers did not want Byleth fans to feel cheated that there could be complete stories without their special guy in the protagonist chair? Ever stop to think about how that defeats the entire purpose of having a spin-off? Remember how we thought 3 Hopes DLC would happen to fix this fucking thing?

There is a greater than zero chance Fortune's Weave will refuse to answer any such questions on where it belongs on the timeline conclusively. They may very well intentionally leave evidence lying around that it is in the past, right next to evidence indicating that we are in the future, and even more evidence showing we are in an alternate timeline. We can not and should not underestimate how fucking insane the writers can be with their priorities here. They literally wrote a setting that people are still having genuine discussions on the details of to no conclusive result (Fódlan itself), do you really think they will give us a straight answer on where and when Fortune's Weave is taking place?
