Honestly this scene hits so hard because it is a known thing that Strelitzia has struggled with since union x
Shes scared of fighting heartless. She lets herself get chased around by them. She says as much herself!
And its not that shes weak or anything. Lauriam tells her that her magical prowess is much greater than his own. If she just focused and stayed calm she'd be fine! But its hard. Its hard because shes scared and most people would be if they fought some horrifying monsters that could kill you!
But its not just that already existing fear. Her getting jumped at by heartless would probably trigger the memories of her death aswell considering darkness quite literally jumped her. That was how she got killed!
And because her fear and possible flashbacks arent enough she seems to struggle with summoning the one thing she can use to defend herself
Shes terrified, Possibly gets reminded of the utterly horrible thing that happened to her and shes completely defenseless to do anything against it because she cannot summon her weapon
Its no wonder she looks so terrified!
And honestly I think its so cool to see a keyblade wielder whos just….scared. Who fears the things they fight and who lets that fear consume them because news flash: overcoming your fear can be hard as hell
