Peony Flower Close-up (D-Lux 3) by Byron Balogh Via Flickr: Here’s a close-up of a peony in our backyard at full bloom taken with my 10MP Leica D-Lux 3. This tiny 19-year-old digital compact camera takes dream-like (almost film-like) images so naturally. Shot in raw format, some sensor noise was cleaned up in Lightroom 15. | Leica D-Lux 3 | DC VARIO-ELMARIT 6.3-25.2mm f2.8-4.9 ASPH | ISO 100 | Exposure Compensation -0.66 | No Filter | Aperture Priority | Auto White Balance | Available Light | Handheld | Photo ©2026 A. Vintage Rust Relic (D-Lux 3) by Byron Balogh Via Flickr: Sharpness test shot with my (new to me) 2007 Leica D-Lux 3. Raw image denoised trying Adobe’s AI Generative Denoise function in Lightroom Classic 15.3.1. The denoising did work, but didn't significantly improve the image. The lower resolution JPG straight out of camera is almost as good! | Leica D-Lux 3 | DC VARIO-ELMARIT 6.3-25.2mm f2.8-4.9 ASPH @ 25.5mm | f/4.9 | 1/50s | ISO 100 | Exposure Compensation -0.66 | No Filter | Aperture Priority | Auto White Balance | Available Light | Handheld | Photo ©2026 A. Old City Hall, Milwaukie Oregon by a. byron balogh Via Flickr: Photo ©2026 A. Byron Balogh
A sunny spring day on Main Street in Milwaukie, Oregon, the old Historic City Hall bustles with new activity! It was recently restored and repurposed as a retail and restaurant experience, featuring Pfreim Brewery and multiple retailers. Built in 1938 as the last WPA project in Oregon; and designed by local architect Walter F. Kelly. Shot in harsh midday sun with my humble Canon PS G2.
I mistakenly had the ISO set at 200 when it should have been ISO 50. Not bad under the circumstances.

Mt. Hood Alpine Glow (2005) by a. byron balogh Via Flickr: Photo ©2005 A. Byron Balogh 'Alpine glow' is a an infrequent occurrence when the setting sun strikes the mountaintop after the valley is already in shadow. It is a joyous experience! I was just lucky enough to have a camera in the car when this scene occurred near Sherwood, Oregon in 2005. Modest by today's (2026) standards of digital gear and post-processing, I wanted to keep the digital image true to the original film image. I only bumped the exposure and added just a hair of clarity in Lightroom. Photo captured in 2005 on 35mm Fujifilm Velvia with my Nikon F2A and Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f/3.5 zoom lens. Film processed and digitally scanned by Pro Photo Supply of Portland, Oregon. Oregon Sunset 1 (2008) by a. byron balogh Via Flickr: Photo ©2008 A. Byron Balogh (Image updated in Lightroom in 2026) Standing in a wheat field in Kinton, Oregon, June 25, 2008. Sadly, this wheat field which stood here for decades at the corner of Scholls Ferry Road and Beef Bend Road was replaced in 2020 with a brand new complex of multistory multifamily apartments. I shot this back in 2008 with my Nikon D80 and my favorite manual focus Nikkor AI 20mm f/4 lens. Image exposure adjusted and cropped in Lightroom. As of this writing (March, 7 202) this image has been viewed only 91 times since 2008. | Nikon D80 | Nikkor 20mm f/4 AI | f/8 | 1/15s | Manual ISO 100 | Available Light | Tripod || Nikon L37c Filter | DSC_1707 | KEYWORDS & TAGS: 2008, AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED, Beaverton, CCD Colors, CCD Magic, CCD Sensor, Clouds, f8, Fire in the Sky, Jet Trails, Kinton, Nikon D80, Oregon, Sky, Summer Solstice, sunset, Tripod, Wheat, Wheatfield
