“You mean it? Because you don’t really have to, I make a pretty awesome caroler on my own. But also, I know we’d be great as a team if you really did want to. Which songs do you know? Because we don’t really have sheet music, so we’ll have to just do what we can.”

“Oh, I definitely mean it. And I know at least the first verse of most of the popular ones.”

“It means she’s either not here anymore, or someone is covering her scent. Either way, I can’t find her.”

“I wish I could help, but I’m just a human. I’ll keep a lookout for her though. You should talk to some of the other wolves. I’m sure she’s going to be okay, we just...need to find her.”

“I can’t even trace her scent.”

“That...sounds bad.”

Mac grinned. She knew that she had it lucky, that despite hercrappy parentage, she had a good happy life. James and Grant weren’t her real parents, but she loved them. She wanted them to be her real parents because they loved her unconditionally. “That’s a good one! White Christmas is really good, too. Hey, do you think we can get Christmas music to pay somehow? OR! We could go caroling! There has to be some people that would love to carol around to others rooms, right?”

Aaron laughed again at the younger girl’s enthusiasm, nodding his head. “I think there are definitely some people who could use a little holiday cheer around here,” he pointed out with a shrug, The air of sadness that hung over the pack hadn’t gone away in a long time, and Aaron was pretty sure that Mackenzie was just the person to make this hospital just a little less gloomy for everyone. “I’m definitely in. I’m sure we can get a few other people. I bet Heather would join us.”

“It should. It’s getting colder too, which might slow them down.” Allison nodded, “If you get the okay, let me know. I’d like to go too.” 

“I didn’t think about that. You’re probably right. I’ll talk to Scott and let you know.”

“Oh, you can’t do that to me! There are so many good ones! Though- Probably Mr. Grinch. My papa did funny voices and faces whenever he did it, and he’d pretend I was the dog, Maxy. So we’d run around the house with me wearing reindeer antlers and a red nose, and him tittering around pretending to be grumpy.”

“Really? That’s awesome,” Aaron said with a laugh, and not for the first time, his heart ached knowing that he had never been able to have that kind of childhood. For so long, Christmas had just been another day to remind him of what he didn’t have. “I always liked I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”

“Let me know when you plan to head out”.

“It probably won’t be me, but I’ll let you know what Scott says.”

“At this point, it would be strange if Jackson didn’t remember who you are. Everyone from our camp seems to have memories of it – Stuart and I, yeah – we remember each other.”

“Okay...okay, good. Yeah, I’ll go find him. Thanks Stiles.”

“Talk to Scott. We should go out and get more.”

“Yeah, I can do that. It’s been safer around here lately, so it should be okay...”

“We need to make a plan to get more”.

“I know. I’m making a list of our most needed items right now.” 

“I don’t know,” he admitted softly and ducked his head down. “… – just, for now, find your brother. From there… I’ll let you know.”

“Okay, well keep me updated,” Aaron said with a nod. “Jackson...is he going to know who I am here? You still knew who Stuart was, right?”

“Like it? I LOVE IT! I mean, I used to get in trouble for singing Christmas music in the middle of June. It just makes so many people happy during the season, I was hoping it’d make people happy during the summer time, too. I might have been wrong about that, but it made me happy.”

“I like it a lot too. I can’t sing to save my life, but I enjoy it. What’s your favorite Christmas song?”
