Why is no one talking about the use of AI imagery and the sloppy illegal use of shutterstock image on this page spread of LETTERS TO KETTERDAM?????
Like this is amateur af and embarrassing. The back of the book has credits to all other artists who contributed to the book, but neglects to say who “drew” the boats battling above (obviously AI generated if you look close enough) and you can LITERALLY SEE THE DAMN WATERMARK ON THE STOCK IMAGE!!!!!!
She spent money to commission a bunch of artists to do portraits but they couldn’t have one of them do quick sketches for this page??? Makes me wonder if she used AI anywhere else in the book
Like, man, I was excited to get more Six of Crows content but this turned me off to Leigh’s work
Just confirmed this in my own copy of the book. Yeah, it's there, and it's very clearly visible, too. Like this wasn't hard to go verify.
Looking at the back credits it's clear that there is a separate Art Director and Designer, there is clear credits for the art and music made for the sake of this book, and YET something like this so easily slips through the cracks? I can't tell if this is lazy or selfish, but considering this is not the first time details have tried to be snuck past the audience (cough the rewrites cough) I'm more disappointed than shocked.
Obviously this isn't only Leigh's fault, but as the damn author of the book and owner of the franchise it sure as hell isn't something she's unaware of either.
