This isn't a usual post but usual is now unusual so isn't that great. Anyway, this is a serious matter that people need to know and discuss. They need ALL the information, not just media transpired propaganda. After doing this research, I can definitely say I'm a 'yes'. I'm am not telling you what to choose but I'm giving you the information you need to make the right decision! So we all know the better together campaign has lied about hundreds of things and coming up with different things but why? The biggest threat they could come up with is we cannot keep the pound, but it's the Scottish pound not English, Egypt managed to keep it so there is no reason we can't. But even if we don't keep the pound, what if we take on the euro? Or move to a newer currency. So most people who have looked into the past claim we will keep the pound whereas those who are listening to the campaigns say we won't. When compared to the rest of the UK and then England, you find in GDP, Scotland is actually higher up, has less dept (which will increase if we stay in the UK, since that's how our debt started in the first place) and we are better off in the majority of aspects. GDP: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-26614122 Don't fear about our economy collapsing or he fact we won't have a leg to stand on, because there are a group of countries in the 'Nordic countries/Scandinavian Countries' who share a council, similar to the UK, supporting each other but not as problematic. They are among the richest countries in the world and so far they have said they would be glad with Sweden representatives saying 'If Scots phones, we'd be overjoyed'. So we could well join the Nordic economy. In terms of the oil, would you want this: in recent years, English government managed to misplace billions of pounds worth in oil, never returning to Scotland, yet oddly enough, certain debts, regions and cities getting 'refurbished' at the same time with a similar amount of money they supposedly 'lost'. We have quite a few million barrels minimum and for all we know there could be more, so that's an even better boost for the economy on it's own with Scotland taking 100% of the profits. The oil problems actually only started to whir up when SNP announced about wanting a referendum. Most claims have been false or just plain stupid. One government official in Parliament stated "Scottish people wouldn't have a clue what to do with the oil" and others claim "the oil will be gone in a matter of years, then what", again wrong, studies and tests show there is a minimum of 30-40 years of oil production at its highest average performance. Generally they have NEVER batted an eyelid when a country has left nor have they cared about Scotland's affairs and ideas up until the thought of losing us surfaced. Could it be the oil, land, allies or what? They want it and they want it bad, so why let them leech now! When interviewed, people in Glasgow were very scared to vote yes, as if the propaganda had gotten to their heads. Most claimed they WOULD vote yes but there are three main problems, Alex Salmond, the currency and economy and also basically scared to take a chance. One individual claimed that "seniors, middle aged adults and teens are very anti-English, whereas my generation isn't so I'm voting no". I don't think she understands why this referendum is happening. In terms of the Euro, NATO etc, from what I've researched, there is nothing against us becoming independent causing us to be simply kicked out. So yet again, the better together campaign has been proven bullsh*t. I've not seen one not thats fallacious. I do understand the problems caused by certain political parties and representatives, the main one being Alex Salmond himself, but would you rather last another 50-100 years of Parliament or 4 with Salmond. I'd also like to point out in terms of exports and energy, we can actually become a self dependant country if we become independant, with the type of weather and water, we could become a fully renewable country in terms of both power and recycling, our universities (in which 8 are within the top 50 in the whole UK) are currently working for things like this as well as tech advancements and better agricultural methods. Our exports will generally stay the same with a few new things added to the list, like energy. So to conclude, Scotland would benefit as a whole from being independant, with very little set backs that overtime would rid of themselves. We would have a high chance of us joining the Nordic/Scandinavian countries, increase our economy, health, education and jobs, keep half the stuff the 'better together' campaign has said we won't and I'm sure they want us to exploit us again. If we don't take the chance now, we might never get it again, there are positives at both ends and negatives too, you just have to decide whats right, if you don't take chances, you may be stuck with problems forever. I'm not saying vote for 'yes' or 'no', that part is entirely your choice, I'm only putting my opinion and research forward so you yourself can see what the hell I'm blathering about. You decide Scotland's future, your future, the next generations future, so make it right. What have we to lose anyway, if we stay in the UK we will sink to rock bottom and eventually kicked out of the EU and UK, or we can become independent, have strong chance of becoming rich and get back on our feet in a fighting stance, or no one focuses, the country splits and we go into anarchy. If we survive 4 years of Alex, we survive and become a better off nation.
