Will Solace has a Southern accent/attitude: he is from Austin, Texas. Not rural Texas.

Will Solace would shoot guns: A major part of his character is feeling insecure because (he believes) the only trait he inherited from Apollo and excels at is healing. IMO Percy is more likely to own a gun… he is from New York. Will Solace dislikes combat.

Will Solace is a cocky badass: Nico is the badass in the relationship. Will, JUST LIKE HIS FATHER, is nerdy (he likes Star Wars and other sci-fi), insecure (I headcanon him as having OCD, but he constantly compares himself to his godly siblings due to their combative/musical ability), cheesy (with so many nicknames for Nico), etc.

His grit comes from having to step-up as a combat medic after having lost his siblings in the same war. His snark comes from being exhausted. He and Nico bicker because Rick loves the bickering couple trope.
