The streamers and comments that say my often used username but shorten it is unexpectedly making me realize how… gender it sounds. I don’t like it 💀 i really gotta change my username again 😔 I’m not going to, maybe, probably, but like, WOW i’m really regretting my decisions. I need better naming imagination. But like why does everybody keep saying it like that??? And not the way i say it???
Technicality on my last post before this one but the difference between BFRB and OCD is considered to be how you actually can feel relieved and euphoric when you complete a BFRB compulsion vs an OCD compulsion. Which is something I find very scientifically interesting!!! Still standing my ground on what i said about neverending discomfort for it though, even with the euphoria.
It’s strange that the cutting limbs off syndrome keeps referring to it as “dysphoria” and not instead “dysmorphia” when it certainly seems more aligned with it. I’ve been carefully referring to dysphoria and dysmorphia as two separate different things since I know exactly how different it can be, so seeing a scientific official medical diagnosis confuse the two is annoying.
In light of scrolling a little, i hear it’s based after the old definition of transgenderism, back when the culture and science was still very wrong about it. Welp! Hey, has anybody ever considered that maybe, people in the past were less educated on scientific facts only discovered later in the future? Anyhow, very interesting problematic controversial history tidbit. Should really rethink about it with more support into its research. We don’t even say Aspergers anymore! Hysteria’s not real!
Anyway, we really do need to change away with the idea that being transgender is tied to dysphoria. I understand now that people still don’t get it, and scientifically the distinction is important to how we understand things. Society truly believes dysphoria is the thing that makes you transgender, but changing the transsexual disorder’s name isn’t enough, the whole diagnosis has got to change too! The fact that transgender people can still be transgender even without dysphoria should be enough of a scientific inquiry to research about and find out that it’s not about dysphoria!!! Not to mention fully transitioned individuals express no more dysphoria too!!!
Fundamentally, it’s completely wrong to base the trans experience onto discomfort. It’s also insulting and offensive because only mental illnesses are described in negatives, but being trans is neutral and can be harmless. BFRB and OCD in comparison is about a false perceived imperfection in which the discomfort is never really gone after the compulsion is completed, mitigated, but doomed to repeat again because it’s never enough. It’s not about the compulsion, it’s the discomfort, the unease, the false perception of flaw. The only way for it to go away is from mindfulness and emotional stability. I don’t really like that I’m hearing all these trans people require a dysphoria diagnosis for some of their transition goals even when they didn’t have it. It’s intellectually dishonest and steering the statistics for scientific psychology on the wrong path.
Being trans on the otherhand is just the general senses being mismatched. It’s probably not a false perception, your brain holds a specific expectation manual that’s different from what you end up feeling (the theory I’m believing as true for the sake of the argument but research can’t fully confirm). Fixing is not always needed because there isn’t always discomfort. It’s not about the discomfort, it’s just about the gender.
Y’know what? I think BFRB should be its own disorder to umbrella all the BFRBs. It’s not like we expect every specific OCD compulsion to have it’s own compulsion attached to mania prefix category, (though I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it, so it does exist…), we just call it OCD.
BFRBD? A five/5 letter acronym? 🤔

that syndrome where somebody wants to cut off their limbs… I’m just throwing out a scientific theory out there… maybe it’s a branch of body dysmorphia?
BFRB and dysmorphia already have an overlap. The desire to… uh… excoriate your body, and the discomfort of the body, kinda sounds like it’ll fit in that cutting limb disorder thingy too, doesn’t it? People already assume BFRB is a form of self destructive self harm associated with depression and suicidal idealization just because of the nature of how it manifests (idk if it’s controversial to say but I don’t think it technically counts). They’d say the same for the limb cutting stuff, which also has its own complicated thoughts unrelated to the desire of harm.
Idk, i’m hearing people are calling it “transabled,” which kinda sounds like another offensive misinterpretation against the trans community. But I do believe it’s real, it just needs a better explanation.
Personally, I can kinda relate, though it’s not detrimental to my psyche of course. Since I have a BFRB, I feel like it’s connected. There are dozens of types and manifestations of BFRB, so it could be possible that this one is just one you could never do and have it heal/regrow back, and maybe people never considered it as a BFRB branch because they never had any other BFRB?
Admittedly I’m not super researched into this but that’s my 2/two cents.
there’s always that one person with the superpower of technically explosion
y’know those disabled characters in RWBY with their superpower/semblances be like “blind = super reflexes” that basically replaces eyesight?
That’s basically Duke’s light powers but for detective work.
😭 you’re giving Duke the powers that my sun OC has

Also did a drawing thing where I made it to draw twenty five trans peeps in a single second flat (I didn’t first try them lol), good luck figuring out who’s who! :)
What’s ironic about the “ultimate child criminal” is how it’s crazy unexpected for white kids to do heinous acts… when that happens a lot.
