Shoutout to the people who grew up in a house where being gay or trans was just never talked about.
Shoutout to the people whose parents support lgbt rights but never told their kids until they were in their teens or twenties because they said it was âdifficult to explain to childrenâ.
Shoutout to the people whose religious communities came out in support just a little too late.
Shoutout to everyone afraid to come out just because they know theyâll be safe physically but they donât know how everything will change socially.
Shoutout to everyone whose internalized homophobia that theyâre trying to overcome came from subtle cues and not explicit statements.
Shoutout to the in betweeners. The pain you felt is real.

my favorite mashup emoji is this one and i wish it was real so bad
so many misguided metaphors around violence and desire. if the open maw of a panting beast fills you with the want to be devoured, that does not make you prey. while the rabbit trembles in fear, its deepest desire is to run. evolution demands it. in fact, the desire to be eaten does not make you any small animal at all.
it makes you a fruit.

Was driving with my grandmother and in broken English she says âno eyes⌠no nose⌠no face. Donât trust.â To which I looked around wildly in search of this omen of ill portend.
Cybertruck. It was a cybertruck.
remember when Elementary adapted the holmes stories and made Watson a woman which removed the gay subtext but then made Moriarty also a woman and gave them weird lesbian subtext. masterful technique. the never-before-seen uno yuri reverse

Hot take but rigid divisions between queer identities and heavily-policed labels that are treated like diagnoses are really, really bad.
Trans men have shared histories with lesbians who have shared histories with bisexual women who have shared histories with ace people who have shared histories with aro people have shared histories with gay men who have shared histories with trans women who have shared histories with nonbinary people who have shared histories with etc etc etc etc etc.
Labels are important for people who want them, but we need to stop treating sexuality and gender as rigid boxes and checklists.
yes. labels arenât a fort you need to protect; labels are a pin you can add to your backpack to signal being part of something. You can, in fact, have more than one label (as a treat).
what animal's flag did you get when you liked this?
the entire ocean (rainbowwwww)
seahorses (pansexual - they form relationships with whoever they find)
southern wright whales (gay -theyve formed long term intimate mlm relationships)
albatross (lesbian - they'll enter long term flf relationships and raise chicks)
penguins (bisexual - they sometimes engage in long term mlm/flf relationships)
clownfish (trans - they change gender)
nudibranchs (nonbinary - they're simultaniously both genders)
sea stars (aromantic - they live and reproduce without a mate)
dolphins (asexual - their relationships focus on social bonds over reproduction)
mollusc (intersex - they've been found to show male and female characteristics)
this is my favorite, and most creative take i've seen on this idea
seeing 1500 comments on the insta post announcing Britta Curl to Detroit and it's so much "oh I guess I won't be going to games" "oh I guess I'm cancelling my season ticket deposit" oh okay and then donating that money to a nonprofit/mutual aid fund that supports trans people, right? and advocating for the league to create a gender inclusion policy, right?
the way pwhl fans have made Britta Curl the scapegoat for the league will never not piss me off, not because I agree with her beliefs, but because by scapegoating one player and directing all your attention to loudly hating her you don't actually do anything real.
Also, aside from the fact that Britta Curl is not the only player with her beliefs in the league, I actually don't think yelling at the league to fire her is productive! I actually don't think a business should be allowed to discriminate against employees based on their political beliefs! I think that's a dangerous precedent to set, personally!
Like you don't have to spend your money in support of a franchise with players who are loud about politics you don't agree with. But saying they don't deserve to pay their bills and feed themselves is not exactly the most progressive take either.
I am once again coming #onhere to remind people that if you don't love trans people more than you hate transphobes your outrage is performative at best and I'm tired of seeing it constantly in pwhl fan spaces
I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?
Don't become a housewife.
And if you do become a housewife, take steps to protect yourself. Make sure youâre legally married, for starters; stay-at-home girlfriends have very little legal recourse to claim their partnerâs assets in a breakup. Make sure your name is on the house deed/rental agreement, and have your car in your name, even if your spouse is paying for it. Have your spouse transfer money every month into an account solely in your name, so you can buy yourself things without needing permission, but also so you can save up to leave if needed.
If your spouse fights you on any of this, then donât quit your job. The tradwife to poverty pipeline is real, and so is financial abuse.
also, many women/people experience controlling behaviour and domestic violence from their partner for the first time during pregnancy. donât risk thinking âheâs just stressed, itâll get better when the baby comesâ because it wonât. neither you and your child will ever be safe with that man. get out as early and safely as you can

Edited to add: Since a lot of people are reblogging this original post, I'm adding the updated version I did that incorporates the intersex circle...
I know intersex people are still getting excluded in a lot of LGBTQIA+ spaces (let alone wider society) and I think it's crucial to show this group is included in the statement that we all deserve equal rights.
Marriage is good and weddings are great but I hate modern wedding culture. You donât need to bankrupt yourself to have a nice wedding. Stop supporting the wedding industry, stop buying outrageously priced engagement rings, stop spending 10k on a dress youâll only ever wear once.
Coming from a professional event planner - weddings are egregiously expensive because companies openly raise prices at the word âwedding.âÂ
Pro Tip - Never drop the word wedding while planning if you donât need to. Most things can be for âan event youâre planning.â This obviously doesnât include things like the venue, DJ (who needs specific wedding songs), and the wedding dress company if youâre going that route versus just buying a dress.
For my wedding I got âdiscountedâ cupcakes, flowers, decor, bridesmaids dresses, groomsman attire, and invitations. I did this by either searching for things that arenât marketed for weddings or not telling the companies I was working with it was for a wedding. Because honestly, most of the time they donât need to know why youâre ordering.
These companies target people planning their weddings and markup everything the second âweddingâ is said. And itâs said often because people assume the services change exponentially for weddings. They absolutely do not.Â
The best example are the cupcakes I had for my wedding. I used a designer cupcake store in town instead of spending $1000 on a wedding cake. If you place a large order of cupcakes with a cake tree for display - it costs about $150 for 100 (which is what I did). When you order their âweddingâ package - the price raised to a $700 base for 100 cupcakes. The only other perk includes a âtasting.â Forget that. Our tasting was buying a few cupcakes in flavors we thought weâd like and picked three. It cost maybe $20.Â
What these companies do is scummy and targets people who donât have information about the event industry.
I will yell it from the rooftops until people realize thereâs a better way.
