the best advice i can give is pay attention to your line weight, and look at references to get a better understanding of the way skin folds and falls around the different features of the face

for posing - its all about determining where the weight is falling. Set up a camera and stand in front of it and shift your weight back and forth and watch how your form changes. where one side bends in, the other curves out. Where something goes up, something goes down. If on leg is extended out, the other has to compensate or you end up unstable and on your ass. Etc. etc. its a give and take!

and as always, look at references and look at your own body!
